FS: 1951 BSA New Hudson Silver Arrow (23", 531 tubing)

Hello folks!

It's hard to know what to say about this New Hudson, as I've had it for a couple of years now, gone on many a fine little ride on it, and have advertised it two or three times before with the idea of selling it. I don't regret at all not getting a buyer previously because I've enjoyed riding it right up 'til now! However, this time it has to go, because my wife and I are planning to move into a new apartment, and my space will become very limited.

https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...ver-arrow.html

Above is the thread I made about the bicycle when I purchased it, and which I updated multiple times. All of the details about the Silver Arrow and the interesting history and accessories are there. If you are interested in purchasing this bike please read that thread!

All of the literature I collected (1951 New Hudson brochures, company letters, etc), the original odometer, Lucas lamp and generator set, and the original warranty tag are included with the bicycle. I will also throw in the new frame pump which I've been using with it (and which works decently) as well as a spare 26" tube, since I don't have any other use for it.

The condition of the Silver Arrow has changed very little since I got it, and I've really only noticed one tiny flake of chrome come off of the chain ring since I began riding and caring for it. Below is a Flickr album including all of the photos from the previous thread, as well as a few that I just took (the last ones taken in the shade) to show how the bike currently sits.

I am asking $500 for this fine old bike, and that includes shipping via Bikeflights (through FedEx) within the continental US (lower 48). I will not ship international or to Hawaii or Alaska. My apologies.

-Gregory

Beautiful bike. I would be very tempted if it were 2" smaller. Probably a good thing its not. Somebody buy this thing!

This is what they should have used for the GCN vintage bike rebuild series! Beautiful, GLWS.

Bump! The price is still $500 shipped within the continental United States! I also recently obtained an original New Hudson owner's manual that dates from right around 1950, and a neat lightweight chain combination lock that came new with whatever New Hudson that manual went along with. Here are some more photos of the bike for quick viewing...

Bumping this thread since I got a PM about it recently...

I want to clarify that the previous price drop is no longer an option, since at this time I will need to find a new box and packing materials, and I believe the cost to ship almost anywhere within the US has increased somewhat since my initial posting. So the original stated price of $500 shipped within the continental US is firm.

Thank you!

Hello folks,

Bumping this one as virtually my whole modest collection will soon be up for sale! The very reasonable price of $500 shipped within the continental US stands.

If you refer to my thread about the bicycle in the main C&V forum (linked above) you can see that I've added a new stem. The original one will still be included with the sale along with all of the extras mentioned above.

It's been a couple of years and I think the only other real changes in the bicycle is that I've got a new chain on it and there are a few more flakes of chrome missing from the chainring. Cheers!
