FS 80’s Netroh (Large Size) Mountain Bike (Columbus Cromor)
FS 80’s Netroh (Large Size) Mountain Bike (Columbus Cromor)
I am selling this because it is too big for me and I need to generate some funds to complete some builds. What I know about Netroh Mountain Bikes comes from right here on BF.
This bicycle is build by my either my father or myself in the 80`. "Netroh" is spelling for our hometown HORTEN (backwords). The frames was generally Columbus tubes from Italy (some Reinolds too, but few). Welding was manly done in Spain at a factory calles RAZEZA. Final treading/tuning/painting/stickers was generally done in HORTEN in the early days, then we started using a paint facility in Denmark in the 80`.
When building bikes, we used one person , one bike , one day system :-)
We have a few Netroh`s left, as good memories.
My father is retired, but HORTEN SYKKELSPORT still remains with myself. We are now the exclusive agent of GIANT bicycles and RICHMOND bicycles.

"There is a bike store chain in Norway called Sykkelsport AS, where I'd say your bike came from. I would guess it is an OEM frame, re-branded by sykkelsport for sale in Norway. This bicycle is build by my either my father or myself in the 80`. Gravel Bike
That would make a truly righteous gravel bike! It's my size. What is the threading?

Columbus tubes, English threading, huge, with quirky font decals, and yellow. What's not to love?

Ooo...didn't notice that. It does look a bit non standard as far as posts are concerned. Those are hard to find.

im feeling a bit silly about my first guess. Dating this by the paint scheme I would think it was more likely built for roller cam brakes. Can the op confirm?
After seeing some cool vintage mtb brake set-ups on Mike Varley's instagram I think this would be a fun frame to play with. Unfortunately I'm recently a few frames over my self prescribed max.

Thanks for the interest.
I am doing a mock up with 26" and 700c wheels.
Will check canti alignment with both.
Will reconfirm English bottom bracket and headset.
Thanks

Definitely not canti"s.
Have a Rollercam somewhere in my stash, will try to dig it out and confirm it is Rollercam.
Never had this built up.
Bought it as a noob and knew it was too big without building it up.

It's probably made for roller cam brakes. Notice there's no spring retention holes in the boss, which is consistent with most roller cam and U-brakes. Measure them and if they are 9mm in diameter and about 16.5mm long, they are meant for roller cam or U-brakes. The bosses themselves are not the Suntour bosses (those had straight rather than tapered bases) but still probably for roller cam or U-brakes.

Hm...........only because that's the way it came to me.
I never built it up realizing it was too large.
Will try to get some brakes on this and solve the tire size question and that should help id it's original purpose as well.
Thanks to everyone for the interest and the questions.
Much appreciated.
