Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Or you can try and convince your wife to have her pay for the upgrade.....hehe.

I managed to convince mine to buy me a brand new 2010 CAAD9-4 w/ a wheel upgrade to boot.

OP I'm with your frame of mind. Go buy what you want and let all the BF bozo's argue over your decision.

I've ridden years on Ultegra and on Dura Ace. Honestly, couldn't tell the difference. But I support frivolous expenditures!

let me repeat this: it ain't about the bike

follow the link, look at the image at right, that there is evelyn stevens, who got to the pro ranks by winning on a rival equipped bike. of course, now she ride around on a scott in HTC livery

https://www.cycleto.com/index.php?vie...tent&Itemid=6#

edit: although if you want to spend money for the hell of it,

Thanks for the positive support. Here's to hoping my little contribution will help keep our taxes from getting any higher.
