Replacement Garmin Mount

Well, with a slight crunch this evening, I am now in a position to look for some sort of fix for my Garmin Edge 500. I've seen the aluminum "Dog Ears" replacement mount online, but I was wondering if anyone out here in BF land has any firsthand experience with it, or with any other similar such products?

I got a K-Edge mount for my Edge 800. Put it on my road bike and love it. So much so I bought another one for my mountain bike. They are actually more secure than the original Garmin mount.

Actually meant the other end of the equation. The little tabs on the Garmin itself that secure it into the mount [on the bike] snapped off. There are some mounts that glue / screw on to the Garmin as a replacement, but I've never had a chance to play with them in person.

A friend got one of the aluminum screw-on replacement tabs for his Garmin and it's working well for him.
