That is one sweet build! I didn't know you could get the La Cruz in white. We need details on the build. Is that a magic gear setup with the vertical dropouts? Tell us more about the LED swap in your headlight.

Thanks,
I am just lucky with chain tension. 39/19 , half-link and slightly stretched (1500 km.) chain, perfect tension .

Thank you,

It is tiny bit heavy but there is counterweight in front, dynohub !

I dont notice any extra drag of an IGH, smooth and silent ride. But i notice little drag on dynohub when lights is on .

I just finished building up my Scott Seattle commuter/touring bike. Shimano drivetrain with barcons. Road Winner II hybrid 700x28 tires. Shimano 42/32/22 triple with 14/32 cogs.

Took for test ride in backyard and parking lot, didn't do to well in snow and ice, but handled well on pavement, might have to get different tires..

I was given the bare frame and fork for free, and just used various parts left over from other trash bikes lying around.

TOTAL COST; $ 0.00

not bad, unless you count all the gas money I used searching for trash and abandoned bikes for local CO-OP for past 5 years..

Hello,

No , you cant get white LaCrutz. It's re-painted ( powder coated ).
I dont like original color and hippie style decals but i like good steel frame.
So i made some paint-strip and sanding . And local paint shop made a powder coating.

Here is good instructions how to improve iqFly cooling :https://default.nueb.de/fahrrad/licht/pimp-my-fly/

I swap the led because i read that leds effiency is better in smaller current.
Hacksaw and files needed .
4 leds in 250mA is brighter and cooler than 1 led in 1A.
MC-E is wiring 4p and driver is original .
Is it brighter ? Hard to say but i want to believe it...

more pictures for frame and frontlight

please ignore errors, foreing language..

Ah, a custom powder coat job on the frame. It came out very well!! Thanks for the link on "pimping" your Fly. I don't think I would be brave enough to cut one up.

Ok, with all the upgrades and adjustments finished (I hope) here is my bike with new ultegra shifting, FD/RD and 105 triple crank. It rides so nice now, and I'm about to take it out for its first ride in the rain.

I don't have much need for them around here, but I would like to get some removeable ones for when I do need them. Maybe race blades or something...the rear can definitely handle them, but there's limited clearance in the front since I switched the fork.

1987 Fuso #1,020

Here's my Fuso, converted to a fixed gear after the cone bearings in the original Dura-Ace hubs packed up and checked out... I've also included a link to Fixed Gear Gallery wear the bike was just posted. The frame is a 30th Anniversary edition from Dave Moulton, 53 cm.

I also just rode in an annual Super Bowl Sunday ride this past weekend. Its just an excuse for folks to ride into down town Dallas and converge for lunch. Round trip was about 60 miles.

Anyway, be safe and enjoy your commutes!

Never had a chance to take any pics until this past weekend. Picked it up on CL back in November; my first road bike and my only bike. Rode Saturday and came back on Sunday with the camera.

I commute on it with a backpack. Usually there's a Dinotte in the front as well as the back.

I figured I'd post up my bikes here.

08 Novara Buzz, for bad weather/grocery runs/etc.

I just got the Buzz on closeout at the local REI, a screaming deal. It replaced this 06 Trek 7.3FX which was nice, but WAY too small. It was my first bike as an adult, so I didn't know anything about sizing. Needless to say, I don't use that LBS anymore.

Saving the best for last, here's my 08 Jamis Quest which I use to commute on nice days and for weekend rides. Just put the white Fizik tape on the bars, and I'm at least 25% faster now.

All the talk on the other thread about Cruisers as Commuters had me wanting one. Newest addition to my stable. Next LaJolla street cruiser. Paid $60.00 on craigslist:

I rode her around the park a couple of times and through the neighborhood streets for her first 10 miles and she's not bad. Not fast but real sturdy. Here is my Puch Meteor Lux with her new Bell Comfort saddle:

My new 2007 Jamis Commuter 3.0 (JC3) -- customized.

Not sure about the VO chain guard. Because of the thickness of the tubes, the thing doesn't fit well with the p-clamps that came with the guard. Also, I might like it better if I painted it black.

I took JC3 out for a 15 mile ride this morning and the SMP's rode nicely. The Brooks B68S will be much nicer once it's broken in. I love the butterfly bars and the stretch they allow me. This is not quite my favorite ride, yet, tho. Maybe after a bit more tinkering...I've had enough fun for now. Putting the SMP's on an IGH hub wheel was enough fun to last me for weeks.
