Riding on Bull Rapids Road

Did I just see a member riding on Bull Rapids Road in Woodburn IN? A green steel bike with center pull brake?

Is this the "missed connections" thread?

Hi. I saw you on your Motobécane at the Piggly Wiggly. You fell while trying to clip-in, and a short, chubby boy pointed and laughed loudly at you before being struck upside the head by his mother. I was the one eating a giant sandwhich that asked with a full mouth, "you ok, bro?" You replied, "yeah, this happens a lot." I was going to help, but didn't want to embarrass you further. Anyway, I liked your bike. It's my size. If you want to sell it or go for a ride, please reply.

Be careful. You can't say Piggly Wiggly just anywhere. 🐷 🤔 For the unaware, Piggly Wiggly is a Southern super market chain. If you happen to be from another part of the country, you might think someone's having a little fun with ya, the first few times you hear it. 😁😉

Piggly Wiggly is where the stuff that happens at Wal Mart happened before there was Wal Mart.

Bianchigirl you and I are the only BF members that I’m aware of this in this area, but obviously there may be more. That wasn’t me on Bull Rapids road but I grew up and work in that part of the county. I will sometimes take lunch rides out there when I commute to the office in Harlan.

Edit: if you see this bike anywhere in town, it’s me
or else somebody stole it. I’m car free, ride all over the place.

It wasn't me, but I know the area. My mom used to live one road over, on Schaffer Rd.

OT, but since Bianchigirll started the thread, I can put this here. I spotted it outside a Harbor Freight a month or two ago. Styling, to say the least.

It lowers itself when the casket slides in and the 400 lb driver gets behind the wheel.

.

Hi. You were the large, angry man driving a hearse, and I was the one on the bike you were yelling at to move out of the way. Did we share a moment? I thought I heard something sympathetic in the way you yelled, "get outta the way, ya ******* moron!" Anyway, I'm sorry I held you up. I was eating an ice cream sandwich (two, actually), and I couldn't lick my fingers fast enough. And I didn't want to get any of it on my new brake lever hoods. If you'd like me to make it up to you, or you simply want to chat about funerals, please reply.

The old Piggly Wiggly when I live is now Witherspoon Distillery. Now that's a proper use for the old building. They kept the old Piggly Wiggly sign and moved it inside the distillery. My old Motobecane has been seen a time or two up there...

If you wanna chat up @Bianchigirll = it's a long bike ride away. Unless you've got ruby slippers and can endlessly repeat: There's no place like...FtWayne, There's no place like...FtWayne

I ride a trail regularly and see a bunch of serious cycling enthusiasts most every trip. Only one has identified, but I bet there are a lot of lurkers who know me by vintage bike!

Make sure ruby slippers aren’t single use before using them to transport here.

And why you don't get stuck with the 400-lb hearse drivers.

Anyway, good work.
