Back on the bike after a 20 year layoff.

Like the title sez, back at it again. After many years of riding and racing I lost my Passion for the bike, and after a medical issue forced me to quit riding I thought I was done for good. Now things are looking good ,Im building up my legs ,and will more than likely be starting all over again in the Cat 5 division. In the Old Guy Division of course.

BTW, the Prices of these new high tech Race bikes are Outrageous! LOL

Welcome back Manny!

By the way, there is an off-season criterium this Sunday in Dominguez Hills. If you start racing again in SoCal, I'm sure I'll see you around at some point. Cheers!

Welcome Manny. Yup, bike prices are high. But many of the older Cat 5 riders don’t have them. They either think new bikes don’t make much of a difference or don’t want a new bike scuffed up in racing.

The cycling world missed you!

I know the feeling of losing the passion. I was a competitive runner from middle school and past college but something clicked and racing was not fun anymore. It's a good thing I started cross training in college with cycling because that allowed me an energy outlet since I am not one to sit around doing nothing. Just remember to take it slow and easy. Your brain wants to GO but your muscles will say WOAH!

Thanks for the kind and motivating words Guys!

So far Ive been putting in 25 to 35 milers and slowly worked myself up to an average speed of 17 to 18 MPH. My first ride I did maybe 13 MPH and was cooked after 17 Miles. The first couple of weeks were demoralizing and Painful but Every day I feel stronger. Im just trying to get my legs to back into a smooth spinning motion again and its alot harder than I remember. HAHA.
