Transporting Bikes

Looking for what others have found to work well to transport bicycles. Currently we transport at least 4 bikes and sometimes 5. We have a DraftMaster, which is a hitch mount and which works wonderfully! Looking for other ideas though, if we tow the camper our hitch mount cannot be used for the bikes.

Has anyone used a system that will mount to a flat truck Tonneau cover? Similiar to a roof rack system typically used for a car? I've tried searching and haven't come up with many answers.

Someone mentioned a hitch rack that lets the actual hitch to the trailer ball pass through it
base is essentially a square tube..

maybe the local welder can modify your draftmaster in a similar manner.?

as to the other Yakimas makes Dummy Rain Gutters , to then use their Old Gutter mount Rack Hardware..

I miss Cars with rain gutters.

I have the older Reese version of this hitch which allows me to pull a small trailer while carrying 4 bikes. It cuts the load you can tow, so I'm not sure if it could handle a camper. This one is rated for a higher capacity than others I've found. I found mine on craigslist for <$100.

What about systems for cars without hitches? as in my Gf's 2012 Civic...I know Wal-mart sells some trunk mounts but I wanted something of higher quality, and it must be able to haul three bikes. I will google later, just wanted the advice here of something quality that would stand up to the task and last. thanks

There's another thread going about hitch racks. You could see if there is a class II hitch available for the Civic, which would be good for up to 3 bikes. If only a class I hitch is available, you're limited to 2 bikes. This is much more expensive than buying a strap-type trunck rack, but there are some compelling reasons to do it. Thanks, I checked that thread out, looks like this bike transport thing is going to be more difficult and expensive than expected. Sorry about posting in the wrong area. Your advice in the other thread was useful, thanks for that

Last week I saw a hard tonneau cover with integral bicycle mounts (front wheel removal type) molded in. Sure was slick but looked $$$
