Did I make a big mistake (wheels)
I bought a set of these without researching them mavic ksyrium equipe, the LBS said they would be fine. I'm 230 with a 21 pound bike, but I read later on Mavic's site, weight limit is 200 combined total. Confronted the bike shop, and they said that was just for insurance & lawyer stuff.. I'm running 700 x 32's with lower air pressure for a smoother ride. The bike shop said bring them back in a couple months for a check up. Should I try & sell them, or just ride and see what happens ? Thanks Richard

I found out later that I could have had a set built, for the same price with Ultegra hubs & open Pro rims, 36 spoke count.. Feel like I got ()*&%(%&) at the LBS..

Well you could never guess what happened, I bought the wheel set at a Giant dealer. Today I took the bike by the Trek Dealer for a fitting, and a new saddle. Everything went good, then the manger was going to adjust a slight squeal out of my front brakes. So he takes it for a test ride, HE IS (270) then pops a wheelie right before he gives the bike back Well there still trued .. Thank God..

If they are anything like the Aksium's (ha?) you should be fine. I'm 270lbs and I haven't had an issue with them.

just pedal
I had one on the rear of my bike for a few hundred miles before I sold my bike... never had a prob with em... ran a 32c tire on it... granted a few hundred miles isn't a ton... but I weighted north of 300lbs

Aksium's seem pretty close, both have bladed 20 spoke count, and close to the same weight etc.. 2013 Giant Escape RX 1 That's one nice Hybrid, (Flat Bar road Bike)

I have Ksyriums on one of my bikes now, and have had a set on another bike in the past. Never had an issue.
Great wheelset. Matter of fact, I would have them on my newest bike, but it came with Spinergys (and ie always been curious about those).

I have had Aksiums on my CAAD for several years. i have ridden them when I was well over 350 and they handle 50-75miles a week with my 300lbs along for the ride. No problems at all.

They should be fine, BUT I would push the bike shop to honour any waranty issues themselves. IF you ever have a warranty issue with them you would expect Mavic to wash their hands of the issue, so make sure that the LBS will back up their claim by warranting them for you.
