I'll play along!

Wrong day for a ride on the Triumph!

Oops, wrong way

This is at San Jose bike party, while I somehow caught my toe strap in my front derailleur. Yes, lots of alcohol may have been involved.

Another 21 tonight. Didn't get the full benefit though; I stopped at the taco truck.

^^ It's great riding at night more so during the warmer months. I've been riding most nights during my holiday leave from work.

Most Excellent Ride

Yesterday in the Dallas area we had really nice weather (more today) and I figured it would be a crime not to get in some miles.

Snapped these pics while riding around White Rock Lake.

White Rock Lake is a beautiful and old Dallas Landmark within the city.
It is about 9 miles to ride around it and about 12 miles or so from my location
and one of my favorite destination rides. It's a great place to get away within the city and enjoy the beauty of nature and the critters a lake attracts and think, meditate, reflect, exercise and recharge the batteries so to speak.

The city wisely invested bond money some years back dredging it out, improving the trail, bridges, landscaping, and other facilities within. It is an oasis within the city that many folks enjoy. On a beautiful weekend or holiday it is well utilized with cyclist, runners, walkers, dog walkers, parents with baby strollers, rollerbladers, etc.

I get in about 33 or so miles when riding out to the lake , then around it and back and practically the entire ride I am mostly free of auto traffic.

The White Pelicans were hanging out on a log along with a lot of other birds in the water enjoying the sunshine and mild temps.

Today fit the description of my favorite type of ride. Good fitting, comfortable bike, sunshine, mild temps, light wind, easy pace, stopping to take pics of of subjects that catch my eye & generally not being in a hurry to get from point A to point B.

The only thing that would have made it better would be to share it with a riding bud.

This one is at the spillway at the south end of the lake and the white specks out on the water are birds.

The weather has been so nice here in Oregon that I've been able to maintain my summer fitness. Getting 100ish miles in a week in January is pretty great. Did 38.9 miles today in 1.94 hrs.

On Friday, it was just too nice to not get a ride in on one of the bikes. My 1970 Schwinn Collegiate was convenient enough to get to, so it got to go for a ride!

This is our pub crawl group from tonight. That's me in the flannel, back row, near the green bike.

On the way home, it was sprinkling most of the 8+ miles until I was 4 blocks from home... then the skies opened up on me.

I made it though...

Thanks... sometimes you get really lucky where everything comes together light wise and you nail the timing... treatment was a gray scale plus sepia to further mute some of the back ground colours.

My friend was booking it and usually dresses this way as for him every day is a tweed ride and this was his first ride on his "new" 1953 Rudge.
