This is my 1970 Raleigh Super Course. This is my main bicycle for commuting to school and work and anywhere in between. I picked it for 120 i believe and most of it is original besides the the saddle, wheels, the front fork, and derailleurs and maybe the the handlebars and obviously it's not the original paint neither. This bike is what pretty much makes me enjoy not having a car to drive, and to take care of, and considering the small town I live in, I can get anywhere within 30 minutes or so. Also this bicycle is what got me to sign up onto these forums and make my first post as well 
( also the saddle is a bit low since the bolt that holds the seat post was stripped and I had to get it replaced)

thanks for the kind welcome my guys, and at qcpmsame, I've always had an appreciation for the C&V so the bug has been latent for some time now but it has finally manifested itself. I don't mind but, my wallet probably does

^^ In many ways your wallet is safer with the CV bug. It's the labor cost bug that is a knockdown! Fortunately, there is an antidote for that.

After riding my 59cm Super Course for a year, I decided it was just a hair too small. I searched and finally found a larger frame on DC Craigslist. I built it up with components from the smaller frame, plus some swell GB rando bars (Thanks mparker326!), and bar cons. The saddle bag is a re-purposed Dooney and Bourke ($8 on eBay) which works quite well for a tools, phone, keys and a bite to eat, with room for a mini u-lock if needed. The new frame and bars fit me like a glove.

Your setup looks great. I would like to install VO fenders to my SC today after unsuccessfully attempting to install them on my Peugeot U08 last night. The Tektro 539s just didn't give enough clearance with the 27 1/4 wheelset it seemed. I have one question: How did you attach the rear fender to the chainstay bridge on the SC because there is no hole on mine through which the screw would go?

I worked through the issues with the help of my good friend, the LBS head mechanic. I have to say I do like how the fenders look and I enjoyed this first fender installation project.

Super Course MkII
Picked up this project from a flipper in Santa Fe. The LBS tag is from Maryland. Lots of non-original parts, but it does have a Huret Jubilee and Nervar Star cranks...

Thanks for that. I will check the LBS to see if they have an equivalent. The installation is going well but now I have run into the issue that the screws will not fit through the fork dropouts... Should I check the LBS for a smaller screw?

Does the LBS sticker say "Fort Washington Tire and Bike"? Mine came from there in the same colors, but with Stronglight 93 cranks and Huret Challenger derailleurs and stamped drop outs. There were some odd ones with forged Huret drop outs and Nervar star cranks, but they were usually in the 24 or 25" frame size. If yours has Huret drop outs, you are holding a rare bird. Rumor at the time suggested it was a Competiton frame, in reality.

Raleigh used a thinner, closed cell foam insulation in the 80's...they were probably trying to copy that...poorly.
I have a bone stock '80 Competition GS with the Raleigh foam and I bought a new Grand Prix around '83 with the Raleigh foam. From a user vantage it was pretty cool, but when it deteriorated, I went back with like cork tape.
