Updated picture of my Matte Bark Electra Cruiser 1 . I changed out the rear cog to a 24 tooth . I spin out around 11.5-12mph . Awesome for spinning up the small hills in my neighborhood.

Love the Matte Bark (didn't know the name until you mentioned it). I bought my wife a pre Trek Coaster 3 recently. It's fun to ride, and light for what it is. I might add a front brake to this as well. I'm worried that a rim brake will scuff up the anodizing on the rim, so I'm considering trying cork pads. Definitely going to add a front basket. I wanted to use the same Topeak MTX rack I have on my daily, so we could share my DXP bag, the MTX mesh basket, and baby seat. But I've been thinking that might be a mistake, since it's the mens frame, and it's easier to swing a leg over the rear wheel, than over that tall top tube. The front basket will probably look better anyway. THIS ONE looks pretty good, and price is icing on the cake.

I'll provide a more detailed review of the assembly and riding impressions later tonight.

How about that review? I looked this bike up on bikesdirect.com Tempting for $200! I see for $20 more it's available with F/R hand brakes.

What is the weight on this bike? Is that website safe? Looks sketchy.

Thanks.

^ The review is in a separate thread. The bike as delivered is about 29 lbs. Never had an issue with BikesDirect website but I only use PayPal when ordering anything online.

I bought a Mountain bike from them a few years ago and didn’t have any problem . Went through PayPal . But Safari tells me now , the website “ not secure” That doesn’t mean it’s sketchy , it just means it could be , because information isn’t encrypted.

bikesdirect.com is a reputable site,...I purchased my Gravity SS mountain bike from them (now a 3 speed Shimano Nexus,...). Solid purchase,... Now it's a back roads cruiser.

It's an excellent, strong bike. Mine does have an issue though. I had the bottom bracket changed, and the threading was damaged by the bike shop. I'm considering getting another Gravity SS, with the suspension fork, and swapping out all my other parts to it. I highly recommend it.

I thought about doing the same thing with an entry level Gravity Base Camp but now you can only get them with a suspension fork which I don't want.

I actually like the front suspension. It softens the bumps that tree roots have pushed up on the local MUP’s .

I really like the look of an IGH my Moto 3i looked so clean, but they are so much more expensive than a derailleur setup and without the available range.
