cassette tool

I understand there is a cassette tool where you reinstall the wheel and use chain tension to loosen the lockring. I have thru axles. I looked in google and Amazon. Do they work well enough. I'ld rather not bring a chain whip on tour. Where can I find one?
Thanks!

I saw a DIY where you get a 6 inch or so piece of chain, tie a 2 ft or so piece of strong cord to one end. place chain on largest cog and secure cord around the rim & tire. This will hold cassette in place while using removal tool. But you still have to borrow a big wrench.

That's the one I have, I tried it out once at home before I took it with me on my west coast tour last summer, it works. It's a bunch smaller and lighter than a chain whip.
