Some amazing rides you folks have been taking lately! I can hardly reply to everything. Love the Jaguar XK150 and the beautiful little yacht in one post, and all of the photos from the amazing roads in the PNW and Holland show off how wonderful this time of year is further up in the world than in my parts... Here in central California the heat is already creeping up and the spring crops being reaped, and I begin my summer duties as a quality control manager at our company's plum packing facility next week. The off-season went by swiftly!
This evening I took off at 6:35pm and rode 26 miles, getting home just after the sun settled in the west at around 8:15. I stopped a couple of times to check my map because I ended up on some new country roads. The single photos I snapped pretty much sums up the relaxed feeling of the ride. Take care, everyone!

Most of my riding this summer have been ho-hum commutes. Nothing worth stopping to take a picture, unless you like broken glass photos.
The other day I took my bike out at lunch and just slowly made my way around town. It was a really nice change of pace!
This building gets repainted frequently. I don’t think I have seen it stay the same for more than a month or so.

35 miles, including 6 miles of gravel through the Charlottesville “suburbs” of Earlysville, Free Union, and Ivy. Last ride 3 days ago was 60 with cold wind; today 88 with stiff breeze. I did not adjust well and suffered a little.
I’m sure I e posted a pic from here before. Ridge Rd - Albemarle County

Thought of you today while out riding, Hugh. In happier times we would be heading over to Lynchburg this weekend.

14 miles on the '78 Super Course out Valley Circle, past Chatsworth lake, which actually had water in it. Found a nice mural at a yoga studio to get a beauty shot. Nice day, getting hot, near 90°.

My wife was working this morning, so I got a rare Saturday morning ride in.
Just under 40 miles over the Mendips and back around Blagdon Lake in the sunshine, and brought my mileage for the year to over 2000.

Just your basic ride yesterday (Evanston to Highland Park). This is the only photo I took, showing the standing water in the athletic fields between the Winnetka ice rink and Willow Road. Still playing with the panorama feature on my phone. The distortion here seems minimal. Maybe I'm getting better.

Yeah, I’d thought about heading down there to at least do the climb but don’t think I’ll be able to. Next year!

After some impressive rainfall, it cleared out (sorta). Did 50 up to Lake forest.
Said lake...
Said forest...
Good to get out with all the rain lately. Freakin' NE wind off the lake kept temps in the low 50s. Tailwind all the way home

Took a shakedown ride from Middleton to Babcock Hall on the UW campus after dropping on a set of Mavic CXP22's on an 8 speed conversion to my 610. Spring is finally here and I couldn't be happier

33 miles covered four of five NYC Boroughs. Started in Manhattan and headed south in Central Park from 100th to 59th, then crosstown over the 59th Street Bridge (and yes I was feelin' groovy) into Queens, then south along the "hipster trail" from Long Island City into Brooklyn through Greenpoint and Williamsburgh, which delivered a majorly tattooed dude with major beard and major handlebar mustache riding his fixie sitting upright with said inked arms folded. I crossed the Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan.
A quick stop at Foley Square to change masks. I alternated between a paper cone mask and a cloth mask.
I took Centre Street to Park Avenue, all the way up to Harlem. Park Avenue the way I like it:
Then over the Willis Avenue Bridge into the Bronx, east for a bit crossed the connector onto Randalls/Wards Island, where the parking fields at Icahnn Stadium are being used to park refrigerated trailers to be used as temporary morgues.
It almost figures that afetr 25 miles of urban streets in the park that something that looked like an earring back pierced my rear tire so I swapped tubes and learned I need to lubricate my Zefal.
I left Randalls Island on the 103rd Street footbridge back into Manhattan. Rode up to 110th Street, then west along Central Park North and down Central Park West to home. All in all a really enjoyable jaunt.

Most Sonoma Co. Coastal Parks are closed to car traffic. Had a few miles to myself this morning. Saw a jogger on the way out.

Out across the Somerset Levels this morning, tail wind most of the way towards Glastonbury, and sunshine on the way over Shapwick Heath.
Of course, the tail wind became a howling headwind for most of the way home. Nice ride though, and the rain held off.
