Nature is coming back with a revenge
As most people, I was quite excited to take a "real" ride on my bike, now that shut downs have eased. I rode up my favorite hill to enjoy the view, then for the exciting downhill coast.
On the up going at a steady, slow pace, not a problem. Coming down at a good clip, I had not 1 but 2 whip snakes in the middle of the road (about 1 km apart). They were about 1.5 m and 2 m long, so they blocked a good part of the road. Some controlled braking and some luck, I avoided them as well as a crash. I have not seen something like this for over 20 yrs.
Just giving a heads up, the animals are coming for us

Oh, goodie, another snake thread!
I just missed a foot and a half rattler last weekend. Lucky for me, it was already roadkill.

Dodged a copperhead curled up right in the middle of the MUP last weekend. Glad I was biking and not walking!
