Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks. We'll see how it feels tomorrow. I don't know if I can see my doc on Saturday, hoping I don't need to.

Google Storrow Drive. It happens regularly in Boston. Some of the bridges have 10ft of clearance. The news channels barely make a deal over it.

44° here. I’m going to wait a couple hours.

Oh, and I decided to close a couple windows. It’s slightly chilly in the house.

It's a little cooler inside than our usual Winter thermostat setting. May put up the storm windows today.

72A is decidedly cool. Deep into sweater weather. And base layer weather.

68 right now, going up to 100 later. Good news is it's supposed to go down into the high 80s on Wednesday.

Been caught behind one at that overpass on the way to work at the old BCH.

Then there are the parkways on Long Island where Robert Moses spec’d the clearances to prohibit buses and keep his parks and beaches “nice.”

For me, 72 is perfect. I don't even add arm warmers till it's < 60.

Tilton Ave in San Mateo. Though usually these days it's rental trucks, Ryders and such. Local rental agencies specify "DO NOT take this truck on Tilton Ave."

45° here this morning. I survove, but only thanks to a magic undershirt, full tights, booties, and a total of 15 items of clothing.

What a beautiful fall day! It was chilly to start, 45F, but gradually warmed up into the low 60’s. We had a small group of 4 riders and it was a blast.
