Thanks for sharing. I knew they had decent house brand frames, but I had no idea they offered an Italian built sport tourer with Columbus SL. Very cool!

Ugh. All my size, with that Guerc looking like it's on the low-end. If I could win a lottery today, and have a time capsule from the past as the payout, everything in this picture wouldn't be lost on me.

Although I might need to learn a little more Italian.

Same! I wonder who the contractor was. Billato maybe?

Edit: straight from the Performance blog, it's BMZ! https://performancebikeblog.wordpres...ance-campione/

I remember that exact catalog and all of the choices you had for packages. I dreamed of getting one built up...

$14/wheel for custom!

I remember ordering water bottles and possibly bottle cages maybe even a tee shirt from Performance. I could not afford any of the nice parts or frames. They were all the stuff of dreams back then. In 1986 I was a sophomore in college. My bike was a 1982 Panasonic dx 2000 with a hodgepodge of Shimano 600 and other stuff. It had rattle can yellow paint and Elvis faces all over. I road thousands of miles an had great fun.

Thanks a ton (tonne?) for posting this. I remember that catalog quite well! (at least I think I do!).

If you ever get around to being able to post pics/scans of the other pages, that would be most excellent! But please don't take that for being ungrateful for what you've already posted.

Very cool memory lane trip.

I hope the catalogue didn’t cost that much in ‘85! With inflation, who knows what it would be worth now...

The Performance branded Campione frameset made with SL tubing costs $845 now with inflation.
Wow thats a heck of a deal back then based on inflation.

A 57cm frame and fork weighing 2525g means the frame was around 1850g which is quite good at that size.

Man, just a really solid offering.

One of the models in that catalog was a regular customer of mine at the bike shop in NYC.

Nice! Thanks for sharing!

Is the Performance Superbe in this catalog by any chance? It's shown on the cover, but I've seen that photo in another scan so it might have been reused from an earlier catalog.

I believe it has its own page. Will do my best to post it.
