Want to TRADE

Have:
Low Serial Number 1989 KHS Montana Summit (a non-suspension bike)
QUAD BUTTED Lugged Steel Frame
SRAM x9 RD
SRAM X3 3x7trigger shifters
SHIMANO 42/38/28 Mount Tech BioPace Rings
14-28 seven speed FREEWHEEL (not sure of the brand)
SRAM 5000 (High Profile) rear Cantilever Brakes with new dual compound/color Salmon pads.
DiaComp (Low Profile ) Cantilever front brakes with new dual compound/color pads
Suntour XR(?) Full Finger Brake Levers
Rear Rack (connected to drop-outs)
Newer white seat
New GIANT slicks (26x2? 26x1.95?)
New Tubes (with LBS tire Sealant)
New Tire Liners
(sand burs abound in this area)
Zèfal full fenders front and rear.
Provision for three water bottles. (cages included)
Has original Blue and Pink/"Raspberry" KHS factory Racing Team paint.
Paint is in food condition. - it shines!
Same owner for 9 or 10 years. Very comfortable ride.
Always kept inside when not riding it.

WANTED:
Equal value and rideable condition minimum 7 speed Mixtie.
I don't care if 26 inch or 700C wheel size.

Bike is in Twin Falls, Idaho, at Moose Bicycles. (I'm at an Assisted Living facility in Buhl, next door to Twin, since my stroke.)

REASON FOR WANTING TO TRADE:
Deterioration of movement in hips (and knees). I can no longer mount the KHS (Laying the bike down, stepping over it, then raising the bike is not a viable option.)№

My monthly budget/income is insufficient to ship the KHS. Therefore, I need someone who is local, or can come to Twin with the Mixte to make the trade.
Deal will take place at the bike shop. It is unlikely I will be there. From what I've heard, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, etc. are locked down until at least September 01, 2021, by orders of the Governor.
If a resident leaves other than for a medical appointment, they get quarantined for a minimum of two weeks plus however long it takes for the Covid test results to come back.
(No thankee. At least now I can go outside for fresh air, shoot my crossbow or slingshots, or just sit in sun (or shade) and drink coffee. If quarantined, I couldn't leave my room. )

Sorry, no pictures of the KHS on this device.

If interested, please email: a fish hunter at g mail dot com (no spaces)

Thank you for looking.

It's a shame you've got to let go of your ride, it sounds nice. A decent mixte could likely solve some issues so good luck with it. As my mobility seems to get challenged more and more each year, perhaps a mixte should be high on future 'need' list. Maybe these and higher end step throughs will rise in the market as our classic cohort gets even older.
Regards

OoooH. For a mixte, that thing is teh HAWT SEXXX. After you tidy up the cables and get matching tires, that is.

Best of luck

If I had a mixte that would fit your needs I'd send it to your LBS.
Praying you fund a great ride and can keep riding!

What size mixte do you need? Hopefully someone in this forum local to you can help facilitate a swap but they will need to know what size you are looking for.

Or possibly this?

I have contacted the seller to see if this is still available and I can refurbish it a bit before sending to you?

I plopped a few possibilities below. The Panasonic is closer, and I am not sure if the Trek is available either. Hopefully a response!

You might want to just sell the KHS and use those monies to buy a mixte. There are BF members who likely have a mixte to sell and ship so this would expand your market beyond your immediate area.

Thank you! I haven't heard a response and one of the two bikes is gone, but I think the Trek is still available.
