ca. 1976 Windsor Carrera Sport
Whoa. Two posts in one day after a years-long absence!
I recently picked up several frames for my earn-a-bike club, one of which was this ca. 1976 Windsor Carrera Sport. I've seen a few photos of these but this is the first time one has crossed the threshold of my studio. Anyway, I thought some of you might be interested in seeing this little thing.

two oddities which may be present here for you to be aware of -
a) the Carrera Sport of the 1973-74 time came through with an Italian threaded shell of 68mm diameter
b) it came through with a steerer/stem size of .833 (an artifact of the Japanese tubeset employed)
your '76 appears identical to the '73-'74 examples have owned and worked on so it may be the same

I'll have to check the steerer diameter before putting this little frame to use anywhere. I'm going to rejuvenate the BB this weekend, check the spindle and bearings, and clean old/add fresh grease. I'll check the threading and width then. Thanks for those insights, I hadn't considered either.

suspect you shall find that the "Maxy/TypeII" spindle in the bottom bracket is marked model 3S or 3(S) because the shell is 68mm. normally one would expect a model 5S spindle with an Italian threaded shell.
if you will be doing a build you may need to source an .833 stem for the machine. the factory original was a Gran Compe.

here is an image of the frameset's Agrati lugset as loose pieces
the seat lug in the image is Malaguti style, it could be ordered either Malaguti or with regular binder ears as seen on subject frameset
the frameset's fork crown is from the Agrati "BRIANZA" lug set and is item nr. 000.8038

I can’t say for certain because this came to me as a frame and parts only, and the guy who donated to us thought it was an Italian frame. So I’m thinking he probably got it from somebody else to begin with. That said, I am guessing there was a piece of reflective tape that went across the head badge at one time.
