Performance bike - Superbe Pro 1984
I ran across these pictures of a bike that I bought new from Performance bicycle through the mail when I lived in Texas in 1984 or so and owned and rode until about 2011. I sold it after buying a new Specialized Sirrus Pro in about 2007. This was a great bike and I loved riding it but interest fell off so I decided to let it go at that time. Tange tubing and fitings for the frame and Suntour Superbe Pro group were the main pieces. Nice sparkle red paint as well.

I bought one of these in Seattle earlier this year. It was in rougher shape than yours appears to have been, but it still cleaned up pretty nice.

That is one sexy freaking bike. Errr, was. My size too. I'll keep an eye out.

"They" say these were made by Tano. I've found multiple posts claiming this. No evidence beyond a possible serial number pattern match.

It does now. It didn’t come that way. I added the third ring using a Red Clover tripleizer and hacked the three pulley cage onto the Superbe rear derailleur.
