1980 Trek 710 with Shimano 600 Arabesque Components
What's a fair price for a 1980 Trek 710 (Reynolds 521 tubing) with original Shimano 600 arabesque components in good shape. Saw one pop up and wondering what's a fair offer. Thanks!

Anywhere from $100 to $500 or even more. It's really all about condition. For me, the quality of the paint is really important and makes a resale/flip so much easier. I'm less worried about original parts or if some components need replacement. Six more posts and you can link necessary photos or links.

Anywhere from $100 to $500 or even more. It's really all about condition. For me, the quality of the paint is really important and makes a resale/flip so much easier. In my area, road ready and in very good shape, that's a $300-$350 bike. Right now sales around here are sloooow.

I don't think the guy is getting much interest as he noted on the listing it needed some work, although it's all technical work (installing and setting new derailleur, new chain, new cables, etc.). He's out of town until Sunday but said I could check it out then. Listing is for $150, but I'll see if I can work him down a little. Even if I can't, $150 seems like a good deal.

I wouldn't bargain with the seller at $150. That is a very fair price for that bike.

150 seems a little low to me. if you look at the worth of all the components. the arabesque groupset alone is worth about 100-150 to the right person. wheel-set another 50 i would say and then there is the frame and all the rest. of course it is always cheaper to buy the complete bike. but 150 seems low to me.

So I ended up picking up the bike for $150 and the guy threw in the Shimano 600 rear derailleur he had lying around to replace the existing on that was put on, but not time period appropriate. Photos below for conditioning. Looks pretty clean mine the drive side chainstay. Otherwise, this should clean up pretty nicely. Only needs a new chain, bar tape, and seat. I'm thinking once it's cleaned up I'll list it for $350. The only concern I have is the size at 50cm 😕
