What hoods for this Dia-Compe lever?

I have an early 70s Dia-Compe 610 brake setup on the Fuji. What hoods fit this? I also have early Weinnman red dot levers (same shape I think) on my Automoto which could use hoods as well.

Edit: I'm aware of the brown Cane Creek hoods, but they seem particularly unattractive to me.

Dia-Compe/ Weinmann hoods

Agreed- the Crane Creek hoods look like merde. Rustines makes repo hoods that fit early Dia-Compe/ Weinmann levers:

I bought a couple sets of these several years ago just to pad out a Rustines order...

Google shows Porkchop BMX and Ben’s Cycles offering non aero hoods. V-O has a beefier Gran Compe style hood.

Thanks, that looks to be about the right shape.

The Porkchop BMX and Ben's offerings appear visually correct. The V-O hoods seem to be for a later lever style. This is the sort of thing I was stumbling upon. Since none of the listings appeared to identify just what lever they were for, I didn't trust what I'd found would fit.

I have always liked Porkchop BMX. May buy from them. Unless I can find something which is labelled "Weinmann", I may go for the Rustines option for the Automoto.

And I forgot about bike-vintage.eu (racevelo.com). Will check there as well.

If they're the right shape, the SOMA Campy Hoods far outlast the Rustines version.

I don't think those would be a good fit on the Dia-Compe 610 levers. The 610 lever bodies are pretty much rectangular, while the Campagnolo-type lever bodies are more trapezoidal.

It occurred to me that it might not be a bad idea to put together a thread about hood/lever fit. For instance, the SOMA hoods might be classified as an "A" for for Campy Record, Modolo (various models) and SunTour Superbe. I installed a pair on some Shimano 600 levers. I'd consider them to be a "B" fit.

Worth it, or no? Maybe an accompanying Google spreadsheet?

This topic (replacement hoods for various vintage brake levers) comes up pretty regularly. I think a sticky thread on the topic is a great idea.

Seems we got a couple dudes making replica hoods and we don’t need to settle for generic hoods that fit just ok. And is Rustines back?

new hoods on Dia Compe Gran Compe NGC212 levers

Yesterday's project: Current issue Dia Compe DC204QC Cover in amber (gum) fitted to mid-1980s Gran Compe NGC212 levers.
I'd rate the fit as a B+. Not perfect, but close enough.
Dia Compe makes these replacement hoods in black, white, brown, and amber. $15.00 from V.O., $10.50 from Cycles Grand Bois, etc...

Replacement hoods

Here is an old post that I made about replacement hoods:
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...ke-levers.html
Feel free to add or subtract if any of it is not accurate, or if there is better info.
