Wow, that was a really great read, thanks so much for posting it (coming in two and a half years late, I know lol). It's not about biking, but it's a well-researched and well-written article covering the nature, geography, and history of the Diablo Range. I found it riveting. The Diablo Range is my favourite part of California for bicycling, by far.
