Shimano Sante group

This is a Shimano Sante group from 1989. These components have white powder coating and were only made for a couple of years. It was slightly below Dura Ace in the line up and above Ultegra. Here's a link to the dealer sales manual.

Components include:
Hubs laced to Wolber TX Profil hard anodized rims. 7 speed cassette, 14-24 teeth.

Cranks_170mm arms, 42-52 teeth rings, Front derailleur, Rear derailleur, Brake calipers, brake levers w/hoods, Shifters, (7 speed indexed), headset, bottom bracket.

Most of the pieces are in very good condition. The RD has a few scratches and the rear brake caliper as well. Brake levers have a few small scratches. These are shown in the pictures. The brake hoods have a couple of small tears but still look good.

These parts were taken off a 1989 Schwinn Circuit and performed flawlessly. The shifting is spot on. The wheels are round and rue. The rims look barely used. Spokes are silver and shiny. The brakes work really well.

Okay, this one is very fishy...why such a cheap price? To replace an iPod??? Please! It's apparently even in my neighborhood (10 min ride away) but I really wonder how it got there. Maybe through the might of C&V we can figure out if it's been stolen somewhere? At least one bike thief was recently caught in Chicago after posting an ad on CL, however rumors are that the bikes usually are sold in a different city from that where they were stolen.

Here is an unbelievable find for all you classic bike guys and gals. I have in my possession a very rare find. Here is my Classic 1984 Nishiki Road bike. This bike has been a true gem to me. I currently have it displayed in my living room and it has been a topic of conversation any time I have company over. Bike is in overall great shape despite a few cosmetic issues that can easily be fixed by your local shop if so desired. I say, leave it and appreciate riding it in it's natural state. Bike is extremely light. I have personally thrown this bike over 8 meters in my back ally (see pics for proof) This would be a great fixed gear conversion because it has long dropouts and is a steel frame…so that means it’s basically a real track bike. I hate to part with this bike, but the bills must be payed. This is a very nice Raleigh Technium 440 road bike. 21in. frame. good for a rider 5'8 - 5'10 or so. 18 speeds.
Very lightweight with hardly a scratch.Aluminum rims with like new tires.Wheels spin true.Very clean.Rides like a dream.

This would be gone instantaeously here. Or most anywhere for that matter! Then again, I remember Muncie and it wasn't exactly bike central The bike store there had maybe one roadbike in stock. When you see the roads, it makes sense.

Trek Elance 54cm Road Bike - $200 (Shirlington)



54cm Trek Elance road bike - late 80's model. Shimano downtube shifters - friction/index shifting. Original Shimano front and rear derailleurs. Shimano brakes. Sakae crankset with 52/40 chainrings. Not sure the wheel brand, but I'm guessing they're original as well. Frame is lugged Reynolds 531 steel. Not super light, but not too heavy and the steel makes for a smooth ride.

Great condition (especially for its age). A few chips in the paint and tiny bit of wear in the saddle, but otherwise works great and is a lot of fun to ride. All gears shift easily, brakes tuned up, wheels true, etc. I was using it as a commuter and for long distance training on the weekends, but have recently upgraded. The bike has holes in the front and rear for a rack to attach. Two water bottle mounts.
