Can't keep leg warmers from sliding down....
I cannot keep my Pearl Izumi leg warmers from sliding down when I walk more than 10 feet, or stand when riding. Just barely stay up when in the saddle. Seems the rubber no-slide band still doesn't grip the shorts very well. Do I need to add some really thick silicon rubber dots? Or maybe I should have bought smaller that don't ride way up on my thigh?

I've had the same Pearl Izumi leg warmers for 10 years now and never have a problem with them slipping down. You are wearing them under your shorts ?

Yep, wearing them under my shorts. I bought these because they are compact enough for a jersey pocket, and work well for that. Last season I did pick up tights that work well, but of course not as "modular."

I've had the same problem with warmers. I plan my morning route to allow for a quiet place to pull over after half a mile, yank them way up, reseat the bibs, and ride on. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. 
Fortunately (for me), I go to tights when it's about 5 degrees colder.

Why would you think shorter leg warmers would cause less of a problem? The further under the shorts they are, the more likely they are to stay up.

Was told by my buddy at the LBS that leg warmers are the work of Satan and to not waste my money. Either go shorts or tights depending on the weather.

So no irritation from the safety pins holding the warmers to the shorts, as opposed to pinning through my thigh?

I've never had this issue? Get a size smaller maybe? I've been using the same Pearl Izumi arm and leg warmers for years and they haven't stretched and never fall down. And they don't even have a gripper.

I had same problem with Pearl Izumi leg warmers. Don't have the problem with Ibex leg warmers (and they're more effective, being wool.)

Oh, I ride fix gears. Going down a 45 mph hill on a 42-17 will drop any warmers not pinned. Don't believe me? Try it.

In my experience, if I am with riders who feel it is "leg warmer" weather, it is, in actuality, shorts weather......so take off the leg warmers and enjoy the ride in comfort!

I find with knee and leg warmers that I have to pull them up up from the bottom cuff a little after putting them on. Otherwise, they have just stretched up the leg from the bottom, and the tendency is for them to work their way down again so there is no pull from the stretch.
The alternative is, rather than just pull them on from the top, grab a bunch to the bottom cuff, and work up the leg letting go a bit of the fabric every couple of inches until you get to the top.
Of course, if you bought the warmers and have lost weight since then, you might need to go a size lower, or find a seamstress to bring in the tops half an inch or so.
