Back to the OP, the trend is now completely the opposite:

Bicycle injuries in NYC are down 69% for the latest 28 day period compared to the same period in 2019.

That maybe true for NYC as a whole ,but bicycle injuries in the Bronx are up.

Not for the period I'm talking about--the numbers for the Bronx are way down for April. From the article you linked:

"Injuries plunged to eight so far in April, down from 22 cyclists over the same period last year."

The numbers are up year to date, but I think that's an artifact of an early spring compared to last year, and it's quite clear that the numbers plummeted after the stay at home orders.

If the citcy is really shut down they should shut it down to cars. I am not anti car but it only makes sense in these super dense areas.
