Hello, my name is Howard. I’m a fairly new bilateral below the knee (BKA) due to a rampant staph infection. I recently purchased a Brompton H e-bike to add cardio fitness and outside activities. I live in a hilly community and can no longer get up the hills w/o the electric assist. Any advice from fellow amputees would be greatly appreciated. I’m waiting on a pair of 152 mm crank arms to decrease the range of motion (ROM) of pedaling. I bought an H Mast (tall) model, but may want to retrofit to an M (standard) for packing and transporting. Has anyone else done this or vice-versa (M to H)?

hb, welcome to BikeForums. The only advice I can give you is to check out the Adaptive Cycling thread located right below the General Discussion thread. Other than age related, I do not have special needs regarding bicycling, but I have perused the Adaptive thread and it is very interesting and inspirational. Pretty sure you will get some good advice, suggestions and ideas from that forum and its' posters. I commend you for your desire to continue bicycling and getting on with your life. I wish you well.

Welcome to Bike Forums hbbenson. As delbiker1 has said, you may wish to check out
the adaptive cycling subforum for information on your bike setup. There is also
and electric bikes subforum for additional advice. Several years ago, I had the
pleasure of riding with the Wounded Warriors on their ride from DC to Charlotte
Motor Speedway. I was impressed with the motivation being demonstrated, and hardware
being used by some of those ladies and gents on that bike ride. I only rode
one segment with them but it was inspiring to roll along and chat with and learn
about what keeps our fellow riders going strong.
