Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Build Questions: LF Stem/Seatpast/Handlebar suggestions

I am currently in the middle of building my first fixed gear from scratch (was riding just a state core line).

I currently have:
State Black Label Frame w/ Essor Fork
S Plus Son Archetype Wheelset
Sram Omnium Cranks

I was looking into Cinelli Vai Stem/Post/Drop bars but was curious if anyone had other suggestions for the build.

Whatever you find on Craig's list for cheap.

I got Cannondale stem, bars and seat post for $50.

They were take off from a new bike he was replacing everything with ENVE parts.

Sounds pretty lucky. I unfornunately don't really live around a big cycling community so people upgrading and parting off old stuff is pretty scarce. Probably going to be buying stuff new.

The Vai stem is 175 grams $36
Vai Seatpost is 250 grams $36
Vai Handlebars are 330 grams $44

I was also looking at the Cinelli Dinamo stem and bars, but they're 84 each. But the Bars only weigh 185g. The stem only weights 100 g

I disregard the weight of anything that goes on my fixie or track bike. Instead I go for parts that will last and not break under hard use.
It's no use having the lightest bike if you can't ride it.
My 2 cents.

+1

Stop worrying so much about grams. I don't even know what my bikes weigh.

It's bad Ju Ju to weigh your own bike.
