My very very rare 1975 Bill Philbrook touring frame (currently in build), fillet brazed construction with direct mounts for Mafac Racer brakes.
This is not the original colour, that was a horrible blue so I had it repainted in a 1975 Ford colour Arizona Gold. I'll post again when the build progresses further.

I must have had at least 150 bikes pass through my hands. I don't recall ever having a gold bike. I can remember having two brown bikes. Both were Raleighs and both were free. One had a bent fork so I stripped it for parts and the other was a women's 3 speed that I sold.

Doug Fattic repaired a minor issue with the non-drive side chain stay in July, straightened the frame, and made other adjustments. Great work, of course, but the real treat was hanging out with him for a couple of hours on my birthday. LeJeune currently serving as my commuter and family bike--attachment for tag-along on seatpost.
I'm planning a 1x10 build in the near future with a different rear wheel. Love these Ahearne + Map bars, btw.

I looked high and low, far and wide for a large volume 100% slick gum wall. Almost impossible to find. I'm an anti-tread guy. Those are the truly beautiful Specialized Fat Franks. 45mm wide and 100% slick. I was over the moon to find them.
They lasted two short rides and off they came.
They are like riding though molasses, uphill, fighting a brutal head wind. I don't know if it was the weight or the construction/rolling resistance, but it felt like I was dragging a Sherman Tank behind me. Coasting was more like rapid deceleration.
They were replaced with Compass tires.
