Will it ever be finished though! Feel like I've been working on my Peugeot forever and it'll never be done!

Well, finished for now. I used spare parts just to get it together so I could ride it. I’ll spend some time seeing if it’s going to be a good fit for me - if so, I’ll probably start swapping in nicer parts.

Very Classy Bike. Those look like nice parts. What is the clamp on the top tube for?

Good eye! The brake cable kept binding because of the angle it came out of the guide, so I gave it a straight shot with the clamp. I may still need to find a few more parts - especially for the brake cables.

Very sharp color! The gold decals go quite well with that.

Powder, wet, rattle can?

Thanks! I did a rattle can on this one - DupliColor from the local auto store. Clear coat is a two-part rattle can epoxy. We’ll see how it lasts. I tried to get the color as close to my old 1975 BMW 2002 - came out pretty close.

The tires are clinchers - older Clement Strada LLG 700x28s that I picked up at a swapmeet. We’ll see how they roll.

Aha, I found this thread. Very nice. Those LGG tires happen to be the same as the ones on my International. Small world. But mine are the 32mm size. They're decent but not amazing tires. I also got them in a swap, so I couldn't turn them down for my commuter bike.

How are you liking the bike?

Beautiful! Would love to see it against a more muted background. I kept getting confused by the iron bench.

The International has been my main road bike. I was A/Bing between the Int’l and my Miami Vice Ironman, and the Raleigh won out. I ride road and paths as well as some gravel rides. For the gravel, I have a 2005 Blue CX bike that also fits me really well. On the International, I’ve tried everything from 25mm to 32mm tires and find the 32s I have are pretty close in the rear - they are Challenge Almanzos. I have some old Paselas 32s that I might try, but the LLGs seem to ride OK.

Maybe this a bit less “busy”. I eventually made a couple changes that perhaps detract from the style but add to the riding comfort. I put on a modern black saddle and changed the bar tape to black to match.

Getting the bike finished is always a treat, in my book. The OP's Raleigh International is one of my favorite bikes. Well done and enjoy.
