Here is my Team Fuji in my living room, thanks to my good friend Scott for the facilitation, and 4Rings6Stars for selling me the bike! It is a real beauty, and a joy to ride. Right above it, is my 72-73 Fuji The Finest that my other good Friend Mark gave to me. Thanks again Mark for your kind generousity. I sincerely appreciate it. I'm waiting for the right components to come along to rebuild The Finest. :-)

Fuji Newest

Just found the site after picking up this beauty. Driving around in a neighborhood where I work, saw this bike leaning against a post, thought it had a for sale sign on it, not the case, it was free for the taking. I put some new tires on to take it for a spin, plan on doing a restoration when I have the time. Serial # is hard to read, think it's a 71 / 72 model.

The orange bar tape caught my eye, then the take the bike note. My first bike in college was a Fuji S-10, cool to have found this beauty.

Suntour Superbe drive, shifter and brake components, Cinelli bar and stem, Sugino pedals w/toe clips, Ambrosio 19 Extra rims, Campy Record hubs, Campagnolo cable guide @ downtube/BB is way cool. Sugino seat post with what looks to be an newer style Cycle Pro saddle.
Overall the bike is in great condition, brake hoods are dried out and ugly, I replaced the tires so I could ride it after the find, fits me almost perfect. I'm going to try one day to knock on the door of the home where the bike was to see if there might be anymore hidden treasures locked up.

Picked this up recently - CL bargain. 1989 Saratoga. I've since cleaned it up, cleaned and regreased all the bearings, and borrowed a seat post and seat from another bike. Just waiting on some new tires/tubes and it will be back on the road.

I get to add another to the club. I think my Touring III is in here somewhere.
83 Opus III. Unfortunately its missing its original crank and Gold rims. It also has some rust that I need to address. 105 SC crank on it while I look for a Super Mighty (what it came with) or SuperBe. Think I will give Tubulars a try. for a while. The tires are WAY old on it but I have done a few miles on it. Think I'll pick up some fresh tires and try my hand at mounting them.

^ That's a beauty Grim.

Never give up that saddle or maroon cable housing! Or the Hatta Swan headset if it's still there.

Has Superbe head set and I think its original.

Any idea who has bar tape thats the right shade and hoods that would be closer to correct?

Ohh yeah I also picked up a AD SLE recently but its REAL rough.

You're correct, I think the '84 was the first Opus to come with the Hatta Swan. Although you could see a lot of crossover between the two.

Newbaums makes a great maroon cloth tape, thicker and softer than the original. What brake hoods are on there now?

Yep, couldn't decide between my extra tall, and extra-extra tall stems for the touring bike

'77 Fuji Sports 10 I got for $60 off of craigslist. Guy converted it to a SS but left the double on and just kept it on the smaller cog, along with the casette. All he did was just remove the derailleurs. Whatever. Not a big deal because I wanted it as a SS.

Now, after a month with it, new crank/BB/freewheel, new wheels, new bar tape, panaracer RidMo's (700x25), new chain, general cleaning, and WILL get new pedals (w/toe clips), probably Monday.
