Another dilemna- what to do with the Trek

I posted last week about a Trek mixte I purchased on the cheap for the parts. Since then I've done some cleaning and researching. From what I can gather on the vintage Trek website and going through brochures the 1984 Trek 420L was the first mixte produced by Trek, and possibly the only one that decade. The bike components are completely original. Mechanically it's in fine working order.

I know it's a mixte and nothing super special but it does look like it may be a little more rare. I'm now confused on what to do with it. I won't ride it (too many other bikes that I'm riding), the kids don't like the style and my wife doesn't ride.

How do you make that final determination on what to do with a bike once a closer look on it and the history of the model are done?

I think we're going to need some photos. I personally like Mixte frames, and if the Trek is in good shape it would be a shame to tear it apart. Post it on Craigslist, or Ebay and see what you get for it (or if it's the right size PM me and/or other interested BF members, and see if it's worth shipping and handling to make a deal).

Just how bad do you need those parts? Maybe you could just borrow them while you wait for another set to come up on the Bay. Then again, would it really devalue it all that much to put a couple of decent Suntour deraillers on it?
