Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It certainly is. And this, from the waterfront in San Francisco, where I'm holed up today.

I like flowers. As a matter of fact, Mrs. LAJ is going to turn her attention to her flower garden this year, and put the peppers on hold for another year. It's fun coming home to people walking up our driveway to admire her beautiful garden.

I wish one of our family enjoyed gardening.

I like the idea of homegrown veggies.

Not gonna happen.

We finally have a nice day for the first time in a week. Sun is out, it's Plus 50°A, and light winds. All I have to do is pick a bike and get my rear-end moving.

Do the dogs bark at strangers?

Sadie sometimes sits at a 2nd floor window and barks aggressively at anybody who walks down the street near our house.

Next I have to paint those silver exhaust tips (they look like horns) black. I have been researching this for months. Nobody makes accessory exhaust tips, they're welded on. So it appears the best way to achieve this (believe it or not) is to use Rustoleum BBQ paint and primer, and to prep and spray the tips while on the car, you just have to carefully mask and prep. I've seen some great results, and the paint is engineered to withstand temps 2-3x hotter than the exhaust pipes ever get. You actually use the heat from the car's own engine to cure the paint after you finish spraying. I think I'll get my bodyshop up to speed with the videos, etc. I've found on the web and pay them to do this.
