Petaluma gravel?

Will be staying in Petaluma for a few days (traveling from SoCal). I know there's tons of great "gravel" riding in Marin, but I won't have much time for any long serious rides, so I thought I might just bring my singlespeed cross bike for goofing around on. Any tips for riding in or very close to Petaluma? Pavement is OK, but dirt is always better.

Thanks--looks good! I just discovered we're staying very close to this park too: https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/700...-regional-park

Yes, you wont lack for open space. The area is known for it's dairy and poultry, which saved it from being over developed. Home of Bruce Gordan RIP...

I haven’t been on a bike yet, but when visiting friends in Petaluma we hiked Helen Putnam park. It seems like it would be a great area to goof around on the cross bike.

Literally just went today. Wish I had had my geared bike but it wasn't that bad - I'm geared pretty low around 55 GI on the ss but I did have to walk a bit going up. But once up there, man, it is FUN. Swoopy, flowy, awesome! I did the whole park pretty much I think. Perfect for a cross/gravel bike. And the views are worth the price of admission for sure.

Nice, glad you enjoyed it! It’s making me want to get out there with the bike now haha!
