I just received some eBay goodies. A Positron FFS rear derailleur shift lever and a NOS rear derailleur shift cable to go with it. Both bought after I decided that the kludged* repair I made isn't fitting for the 1980 Schwinn Suburban I'm riding lately.

I just bought (but haven't received) a repair stand on Amazon because I'm tired of working on a pair of plastic sawhorses.

* If you understand the plastic sawhorses, you'd know what a 'kludge' is. In this case, a barrel shaped cable connector screwed on in place of the original end that broke off. This necessitated hogging out the socket in the shifter lever to accommodate the larger diameter barrel. Also, cutting off the screw head to fit.

Yup, I've ordered from them a few times, and pretty much the same experience. They can have some great prices, but you've gotta factor in the shipping - for one or two items, it might not be worth it, but if you're buying a handful of items, you might not find a better deal.

Lately I've been enjoying the pleasures of lab-to-table EPO - you really ought to try it. You really can sense the terroir of the lab. My EPO had overtones of reused disinfectant, and notes of kidney failure on the finish.

Found I needed a shorter, 165mm crank for the track bike, the picks have been slim but I found a stronglight crank. Wish it'd shown up yesterday but it arrived 10 min after I got home from TTown. The BB was nice but the crank is jewelry with lots of machining on the back of the chainring. Could only get a 49t so I'll try a 49/14 but probably have to get a 52 to run 52/15. Took 1/2# off getting the bike down to 21.78, think I need a new frame next. Didn't get any unboxing pics.

Did you get your tires in yet? I bought a pair of these and one was really out of round and the other was so far out of true it rubbed the frame. Pretty disappointed in them. I've reached out to Pirelli to see if they will Replace them.

Are you sure the tires are fully seated on the rims? I had a Panaracer Pasela tire I was convinced was defective but after searching online I learned tires sometimes don’t seat properly. In my situation the tire looked wobbly on the rim. I deflated the tire then re-inflated it to 115 psi or so and heard small “pops” as the tire finally seated properly on the rim.

This is after about 120 miles. The tires were a little wonky when I first got them. Had the LBS true the wheels up and my mech told me to put some miles on them and the weight over time should even them out. So this is after 120 miles on them. It's gotten worse with the mileage to the point that I can't ride them now.

In short yes, they were seated. Swapped rims, flipped em in the other direction, swapped tubes. There is something wrong with these tires. I'm guessing some of the strands in the casing are not holding up the way they should.

Picked up a new tool bag. I bring the tools with me when I go to the track to do any adjustments the Star Track kids need, wasn't too bad at Kissena, just walk the tool box to the benches. At TTown I had to carry my bike, my daughter's and the tool box up the stairs and back down to get over the track, and the tool box was awkward. Figured a backpack tool bag would make it easier. Bag is heavy but stays upright even loaded up. Not a perfect design but neither was the box, need to make an insert that holds certain tools better. Have a new 8/14 crank bolt wrench on the way to add to the weight.

So I got my tires, and as an note, I got my tires from Italy faster and cheaper than I can gets from from California . Anyway, I am currently running tubeless at the moment, so I decided to use my wife's bike as a fit tester to see how they would mount on the Aeolus Pro37's wheels. Could have not been easier, did not struggle a bit, I could probably pulls these off without a tire tool, it was awesome. Anyway, the tires look good and do not have the wonkiness yours have.

Now the negative, my wife saw the one tire on the wheel from her bike....."ooh, I like that",.... , she now has a set of Pirelli's. I took the bike for a quick ride between the rain, and they felt really good and felt so much smoother than the Bontrager r2 32's she had on there before. Now I am really questioning if I want to stay tubeless or go back to tube. I like the look of the classics, but now that I know how smooth they installed, I might just stay tubeless.
