If you saw this bike you would think?
Need honest answers here (if that is possible) If you were walking by and saw this bike, what would you experts think? Have gotten some negative feedback for my choice of components and it's peeked my curiosity I have a 2008 Pinarello paris frameset with the following
Dura ace components, FSA Crank 52/38 with ceramic bearings, FSA carbon K- force stem, Zipp404's,FSA carbon handlebars, prologo seat. Be honest, as it will help me decide on future builds!! To those of you who just can't be serious, at least be funny!!

I'd think "That's freakin' lovely."
Personally I would de-decalificate the wheels though cos Bora Ultra's look the tops on them there pinarellos.
In the grand scheme of things though at least it's different to the usual Chorus/Record + campy wheel get-up... Besides, I don't give a toss what people think of my bike.
I love it, you are a lucky guy.
You could always add your own decals...

Are you getting negative feedback because people expect that bike to be all Campagnolo?
If I saw that bike I would be jealous regardless of the components.

I think it's pretty clear that's a straight up bad mofo of a bike. People are probably ribbing you for Shimano on a Pinnarello, but that's nonsense. Dura Ace is plenty good for that frame.

I"d think it was a nice bike. Too loud for my taste but clearly built to make the owner happy. Which is all that matters.
And I'd probably chuckle at the Shimano just for the good natured abuse it mnight generate.

I find it funny that people give you a hard time about Shimano on that bike.
Pinarello shows bikes on their own site with Shimano.
If it works well enough for the manufacturer, who is to say otherwise?
I was looking at a Colnago CLX and the Pinarello FP5 yesterday, trying to decide which was the one to get.
They both had Shimano stuff on them, although the Pinarello did have that Most stuff as well.
Those are two of the most respected brands in cycling, and if they say it's good enogh for their frames, I say why not?

Looks fast and good. but would probably look better with campy, only because you normally only see campy on pinarellos. Its kinda like when you see campy on Trek bikes, you just aren't accustomed to seeing it

Except for the lettering on the back wheel that is one great looking bike. Even with the lettering, two thumbs up!

Where have I seen that look before? Oh, that's right...
Seriously, my first reaction would have been "Cool Pinarello!". As far as the components are concerned, as long as they work well together and you like them, who cares what anyone else says? It's not the 80's anymore, when Campy was dominant. And this is coming from someone who rode Shimano from about 1983 - to 1994, and has been on Campy since then.

I think that bike is great. I'd personally change the handlebar tap, but that's just a personal preferance.

It's not all the bike. The monstrous truck it's propped up against seems a direct affront to cyclists' environmental concerns and general selflessness. It's not that you have the truck that's grating, but that you chose it above all other backdrops to display your other form of excessive consumption. Take a picture in front of a fruit stand and you'll likely get different reactions.

i think its a nice bike. I would build it with campy tho.
1. Campy Record
2. Bora Ultras or Charisma wheels
3. ITM / Deda bar stem
4. absolutely no FSA parts.
I think when you have such a high quality frameset you should have the best parts you can afford.
Campy is a must.
JMHO.

If you get sick of the complaints and decide to start over, ping me and I'll take it off your hands. Heck, I'll even pay the shipping costs cause I'm a nice guy and a former Marine.

that's a sweet bike.
if ppl look down on it just because it's outfitted with shimano, they're clearly just posers. any decent minded rider knows shimano/campy/sram is a matter of preference.
just for good measure, drop the people who give you negative feedback on the next ride. that'll teach them.

Sharp bike. I like it better without the zipp stickers and I think I would go black or white on the bar tape. It is almost impossible to get tape that matches the colors on the bike.
