Best Commuter Bike Shop in the Seattle Area?
I'm in town for a few days on business and I'm guessing that Seattle probably has a shop or two with a better selection of commuter bikes than my hometown of Raleigh, NC. Any recommendations?

Greggs Greenlake Cycle, large family bike shop consistently rated one of the best in western washington and the country.
huge selection of commuter bikes. great location for test rides.
its a few miles north of downtown by greenlake. ask anyone how to get to greenlake. the shop is on the east side of the lake.

Squeaky Wheel
Seattle area covers quite a bit of territory. Where are you going to be staying? That will narrow down the selection some.

Yes, exactly. Where are you going to be? Gregg's is popular, but personally, I'd recommend a different shop, but it's all based on personal experiences.
Elliott Bay Bicycles is located downtown: https://www.elliottbaybicycles.com/
I don't use them much but they've been helpful in emergencies.
I use Alki Bike and Board in West Seattle and consider them outstanding: https://www.alkibikeandboard.com/
And then there's always the flagship REI store, also downtown: https://www.rei.com/stores/11

Aaron's in West Seattle is very commuting culture oriented.
Gregg's is always popular and is where I bought my first real bike (Schwinn Varsity) back in 1973.
Counterbalance has 2 locations, one downtown and one on the Burke Gilman Trail not far from the University of Washington. Really top notch shop.
Elliott Bay is a great shop, and I believe you'll see some Davidson bikes on display there (I'm pretty sure they are still the home of Davidson Bicycles).
Bothell Bike and Ski is north of Seattle (Kenmore/Bothell area); great guys and a complete bike shop.
The REI flagship store is always an interesting place to stop. I'm a little biased towards independent dealers, but I have spent money on bike stuff at REI.
This list just scratches the surface.
My favorite place for repairs is Perfect Wheels on Roosevelt. Very small shop, but Larry is a master.

Elliott Bay Cycles is probably going to be closest to you, and the Counterbalance downtown store is a nice Monorail ride from Westlake to Seattle Center. But, you are pretty much in the center of all the bike shops mentioned; most are within 5-7 miles of your hotel.
Nice couple of days to be in Seattle.......
