Bottom bracket question

I知 building up a road bike for a needy neighborhood kid using mostly donated parts, but it looks like I鼠l need to buy a bottom bracket (and brake levers and shifters or brifters). Anyway, I知 having trouble with the total width. I was thinking of ordering something like this: https://www.amazon.com/SHIMANO-BB-UN.../dp/B08C76LSKM as it looks like it will fit my donated cranks, but how do I know if the 107 mm spindle is correct for the bike and the front derailleur and anything else I知 not thinking of? Thanks!

What's the length on the current one?
The CRANK determines which BB.
What crank?

Link doesn't work, but you need to decide on a crank and then buy the bottom bracket.

Link fixed; should point here: https://www.amazon.com/SHIMANO-BB-UN.../dp/B08C76LSKM

I have a donated crankset. Sugino XD2 46/36/24 (though I don稚 have those chainrings) 175. Also a couple photos of the bike measurements attached.

You've already got the donated crankset. But if you were to go with a 2 piece crank or I suppose even a crank that used octalink or ISIS cranks, you wouldn't have to worry about spindle length.

The article points to 113-115. Am I understanding you are running it as a double?

Maybe with outboard bearings, which I would suggest. He could get a crank with the chainrings he wants pretty cheap if that's the way he is going.

Regardless of crank, needing brifters is going to cost. It surprised me that I couldn't even find a decent used set for under $100 when I was rebuilding up my daughter's Cannondale. I ended up leaving the downtube shifters on as she was already used to using them and just buying new brake levers, which are still cheap enough (Tektro).

I sold an aluminum bike with 105 (9 speed) components for $125 a year ago. I don稚 think I could buy the shifters for that now. I知 hoping to keep my total costs under $200 for this build, so might go with bar ends, particularly if I can find someone with an used set.

Needy in the sense that he rides an old Schwinn hybrid/mountain thing that is constantly falling apart溶o front brakes, loose bottom bracket. I patch it together when I can. His father keeps saying he値l buy him a new bike, but even if he scrapes some money together, it will be box store quality again.

RE the frame/fork: I知 building this bike up with what I have on hand and what people in the local cycling community are giving me. I figure the frame donor will be happier if the finished product uses his frame rather than something I bought after selling his frame.

Well yes and no. If you read through the link it states 113mm, but there is a caveat on TA Specialties rings. Are you using Sugino chainrings?

There seems to be a bit of confusion if the crank is an XD2 or an XD600. It seems that some sites (specifically Treefort) are referencing the XD2 as a double and the XD600; or XD2-600t (Harris) as a triple. Here are a couple of links to the Harris and Treefort sites. If I read this correctly the road BB is 110mm and the mountain is 113mm for the triple. Treefort also has answered a bunch of questions.
