Aluminum rims? Might just be where they are joined and not a break. Some are just pinned and not welded. Depending on the warpage or bend, it might just need the wheel trued. Did you ever take this bike back to the shop and have the wheels checked? I've had several new wheelsets get a little wonky in the first three hundred or so miles and just needed to be trued. Usually that's the only time they'll need it again, but never hurts to check your spokes often. My son ignored my advice to take his new trek back to the shop for it's 300 mile check and his front wheel tacoed on him on a turn going downhill at speed.
As for warranty, ask the shop. They are your first contact point to go to for Trek. Not a bunch of opinionated forum trolls like me!.

I wish that was the case , but there is a chunk of aluminum missing it seems as if I rode over something, and it popped a dime sized hole , so I personally think its a defect , but I don't know what trek will say

Those wheels probably had a 1 year warranty. Don't ask here, go to your dealer and see what they have to say. You 'rode over something and it popped a dime sized hole' and you are thinking warranty? Don't go in to the shop and immediately say 'I was just riding along...warranty!' Show them the wheel and take it from there. Also...your posts are pretty much one long run-on sentence w/ a few commas. Try some proper grammar, it makes for much easier reading.

Was I right? Did I also provide somewhat useable information?
