What do you listen to on the trainer/roller?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I almost always listen to rap while on the rollers. Kid cudi, jigga, weezy, jeezy, as long as it's fresh I'm happy.

Crank it up!

I have the trainer in the living room and just watch TV or turn up the stereo.

Back in Indiana last winter, I would listen to Jars of Clay and Debbie Gibson. I would also watch DVDs (Dragnet, or Ernest movies). I would also watch a video recording that I made on my bike by attaching a digital camera to my handlebars during the first hour or so of the Ride Across INdiana during the Summer of 09'; I found that seeing the pretty summer landscape and a jillion other cyclists pedalling like mad motivated me to go a little faster.

Lately I've been watching Biography. Before that was Extreme Home Makeover.

My 1980s John Tesh "Tour de France" CD (music used on TdF coverage on TV during Greg LeMond's glory days).

Quality not quantity. Just as "junk miles" don't help you improve, neither do "junk minutes".

Tried just music and could only last 20 minutes. Switched to Spinervals and wanted to kill Coach Troy. I've since given those up.
I get by with TV episodes that I don't need to pay too much attention to and SufferFest.

I usually warm up to a couple episodes of Metalocalypse then use a SufferFest video if I'm wanting a workout.
If I'm just on to 'ride' I'll watch a movie.

Seriously if SufferFest didn't exist I'd HATE the trainer.

I will watch a movie or late night talk shows. Something that I normally wouldn't watch because I didn't think I had the time like a good documentary or late night talk shows.

That way I can split up a movie in my rolling sessions and be excited about watching/continuing on with a good story/flick. Or be amused by whats going on with Letterman/Conan.

Currently watching a screener of Freakanomics. Interesting stuff.

The drone of the drums, and heavy panting. But that's only because I really suck and music would require dividing my attention which is just not an option right now.

I used to listen to anything loud and fast while working out...like Motorhead, Metallica, Drowning Pool...

Now I listen to Reggae. I don't know what it is, but it is very relaxing and upbeat. Perfect for long rides. I use Pandora on my iPhone, set it to Carribbean Reggae and just go.
