I love the orange one. Is that an Italian frame? I've never heard of it.
Would you mind copying here the writings on the horizontal tube? It's too far for me to read.
Thanks

Very nice, and the price is more than reasonable. I sold a frame/fork with wheels for the same price. This is the first year of 720 and the frame does not have canti posts, so the DC-510 brakes are nice as they will easily work with fenders. Are the wheels 27" or 700C?

Nice find. Sure looks like a 720 judging by the length of those chainstays! And those DC centerpulls are gorgeous! I've been casually looking for a set for a while now. Worth another look :

wheels are 700c btw. I have had a lot of free time this week, I have been home with a work injury. I have not been able to ride or wrench, but I can at least buy.

^Pretty purple mixte a few bikes up! And JYB...is that a One Thousand? Was it a score or a !!!SCORE!!! ?
I tried to resist going to look at this bike, but finally yielded. It turned out to be *just my size* and as the bike had not sold in the 2 days it was up, I was able to negotiate the price down. Stopped nearby on my way home to take this photo:

You don't know the half of it man! To find a bike in this quality from this era in THIS region is uncommon enough, but for $40? Quite the deal. The few quality bikes around, people know what they have and aren't willing to let them go cheaply.

Early bird gets the worm... Or the Raliegh in this case.
It was sold to me as a '75 Raleigh Grand Sport touring with full Reynolds 531. Seat cluster is stamped 73 though. Does that indicate a year?
1 owner, lots of miles. A repaint at some point, with the addition of a few braze ons.
Does anyone know of a frame builder that used to operate (years ago or so) in Carboro (spelling?) North Carolina?
The bike is flithy, so I'll have a thread for the cleaning up process sometime in the near future.
Dure ace headset and brake setup with Mathuaser pads.
Campy bar end shifters.
Campy hubs.
Suntour cyclone FD
Suntour V-GT luxe RD (Any info on this?)
Stronglight triple with Phil Wood BB

^^ that bike was very tastefully put together. I bet after a clean up / overhaul it will be a fantastic rider.
Edit: and ditch that Magna seat ASAP!! That baby is crying for a Brooks

^ I almost put the Ideale I had kicking around before pictures, but the seat post put up a bit of a struggle, and I just wanted to get it posted.
Also leaving the magna seat on the before shots will make the after shots with a leather saddle look 100x better!
It's going to be a long journey turning this bike around.
The Alpine I own is very similiar to this, so one of them will end up having to go. I've got to determine which is going to be sold/traded.
The Raleigh has a bad bubbling rust spot on the top tube that I hope does not turn into a hole.
The seller briefly told me about riding this bike from southeastern, VA to Nashville, TN , and also from here to DC a few times.
He was also president of the local cycling club at one point in time.
