I'm only 51 years old! Doc tells me my Gall bladder is going bad and will need to come out! Jeez, this was unexpected! All I told her was that beer started hurting when I had one or two! "Where's it hurt?" she asks. She feels that area and asks if it hurts when she pushes. Not really, a bit uncomfortable but it don't hurt. "Sorry Sarge, but your gall bladder is acting up. You're off for a sonogram for confirmation."

I'm getting old, I just know it! Proof is in this thread, now I'm talking about my gall bladder! Next thing will be my prostate or something! I'm not even old enough to get a senior discount at the local buffet yet! It ain't fair!

The silver lining? I can still do a century though!

Just don't do the rest of the "aging" thing Keep your butt off the couch, keep your mind active, eat better and DON'T buy white shoes or a white belt,, and DON'T forever be showing your scar

at 65 he was still so cool that he didn't need it - once he hit 85 he decided that he didn't care whether he was cool anymore and just wore what he wanted to wear. But this is a man that has worn a suit & tie to church every Sunday for the past 65 years, he still has a seersucker suit for summer Sundays!

IMHO, he's so cool that he could put a pair of earmuffs on his head & look just fine...

those 'touring caps' were originally designed for driving your convertible - so if you consider your bike a convertible, go ahead

Welcome to the wane. The downhill side of life, where you can't get any traction to slow down the slide into oblivion. My father in law (85) tells me that 'if it doesn't hurt, it doesn't work'. Metamucil, walkers, depends and all that are are on the horizon and getting clearer every day. At 58 I'm looking forward to becoming fully fogeyfied on my 60th birthday. Then I can go ahead and fart whenever I want, mixed company or not. My plan? Put the dirty back in 'old man'.

I wear one of those English caps for dress. They are sold in the suit section and I bought one when I was in the market for a new suit in April. I had a white one in the eighties with the Bell helmet logo.

Do not fret too much Gus, you will come through. I am a couple years younger than you and going in for my 31st surgery in August. Just keep a positve attitude and all will be well.

Flat caps are part of our English heritage. Don't knock em. I used to wear one in my early days as a sales rep and I was always recognised as the Rep that wears a cap. Never lost an order that was phoned in due to a customer not remembering my name- They all knew me by the Nickname of Andy (From a cartoon character called Andy Capp).
Problem is that when I was growing up- in the 50's, everyone wore a hat. By the time I started losing my hair and needed a hat to hide my bald patch- The only things around were baseball caps, and I will not be wearing one of those t hide my blemishes. Give me a cycling helmet any day or a Pantani Bandana and I won't let on that Hats are no longer in fashion.

Going back to this aging thing-- There are plenty of parts of the body that wear out- Some can be reconditioned and some no longer are necessary. I would much rather be without a diseased part of my body- Like a gall bladder or prostate, than have it cause future problems.
