Schwinns - '74 Continental and '79 WSD 10spd Suburban
Nearly perfect bikes down to the owner's manuals and original sales receipt. Picked them up for $50.00 each today at a yard sale.
Any idea on what these bikes may be worth?
Thanks,
Dave

$100 is about the top of the mark for these bikes, but someone might pay a bit more for the nostalgia factor.

Really would need to see pictures in order to assess the condition as well as what is or isn't original. An all-original '74 Continental in excellent condition could be worth up to $200 or more in some markets. Non-original replacement parts and less than perfect condition drops the value substantially.
The Suburban would be hard to crack $100 to $150 even in good condition as the '79 has the dreaded Shimano FFS (Front Freewheel System), deduct even more if it is a step-through (women's) model.

I would probably say about $100 for Suburban and $150 for the Contenintal if both are in realy nice original ready to ride condition. These are really basic model Schwinns so the ride value ins't very high and they where produced in large quantities so there isn't a lot of collectors value.

Well, using the "WSD" tag is a stroke of genius, might get you 50% more for creativity.

Thanks guys for the help. Will get them on a stand this afternoon and might get a couple of pics to put up. But sounds like I will probably double/triple my investment and that isn't all bad.
