Lake Placid NY
I'm going to Lake Placid in August. My son is having one of those destination weddings there.Of course the bike is interested in attending also.We live at sea level and don't ride hills much.So I'm asking if anyone rode a bike in Lake Placid and how steep are the hills?

Some of the surrounding roads are constant rollers, and there are also bunches of steep climbs. You might want to try using Google Maps to plot out bike trips to nearby towns and see what the elevation changes are, since only you know what's reasonable for you.

There are no hills in Lake Placid, only mountains..lol. LP's a biking paradise, plenty of flats, awsome scenery, plenty of big climbs if you choose.. you'll love it.

Only 3 real road options if riding in/out of downtown LP, 86 northeast, 86 west and 73 southeast. Of the 3, 86 west to Saranac has the fewest climbs but has plenty of rollers. 73 down to the Cascade Lakes is the most hilly, while 86 up/down past Whiteface is about the same as 73.
86 out to Saranac is possibly the busiest of the routes, so more cars to dodge.
A nice 40ish miler is down 73 to Keene, L and north on 9N to Jay, W on county 86 to Wilmington, then back to LP on 86. Parts of this are the LP Ironman course.

Its not bad at all. You can choose to ride steeps but there's mostly rollers. I live 40 miles away and get there frequently. Not good with road names or numbers, but if you head east towards Wilmington along the river its scenic and fairly easy. If you wish, continue towards Jay and get on Rt. 9 where you can ride east along rollers for quite a while. Or, go back south on Rt. 73 and when you see the ski jump ramps take the left turn back east which also heads towards Wilmington and is about as scenic as you'd hope for. West towards Saranac Lake is not bad either, but its what I'd call a busy road, although people from away think its great. Also, there's an easy little MUP ride around Mirror Lake which is actually the lake in Lake Placid
Don't let the High Peaks moniker scare you, they're easy to avoid. Congrats on the wedding, take your bike for some chill time away, you won't regret it.

We were just up there. If you check out the Lake Placid Ironman Site, you can ride the Ironman bike route. It is about 56 miles and there is about 2000 feet of climbing and is incredible beautiful.
