MS150, Date change please!

For some reason I remember the MS taking place later in April? I seem to remember the weekend prior to the ms was the Katy ram challenge and weather was always sketchy. Surely we can move this back to the end of April or the second week of may? How cool would it be to have Shinner as a training ride!

It does seem they moved it. It would be cool to have a second 150 the stops in Shiner. I think it would better if Shiner was end of day 2. If it were the end of day 1, day 2 would be more like the MSChum50.

Nope, this is the same time as it has always happened, as it is two weeks before the D/FW MS 150, and that one is always teh first weekend in May.

If you move it back too far, you start running the risk of much hotter weather. For the sake of those of us with MS, PLEASE keep it where it is. Bike to the beach and HHH are plenty hot...lets keep BP in the cooler weather please.

I'd rather have a little more heat, and a little less head wind.

If you look at the geology and climate of the region, you cross from Coastal Plains in Houston to Hill Country in La Grange/Bastrop area. That will cause a change in the predominate winds no matter when the ride occurs.

Wind in Houston is mainly from the South, except during deepest winter, and winds in La Grange- Austin area is primarily from North or North-west.

Got a link for that Lagrange-Austin statement? I would be shocked to find that they get N/NW winds more often than S/SE. The reason it changed from SE on Sat to NW on Sunday this year was that a front went through saturday evening and cleared out the nasty weather.

As TxAgs92 said this time of year winds will typically be from the South/SE in central Texas unless a front moves through.

yeah, we've had bad luck two years in a row. For as long as I've known about the BPMS150 route, I can count the "bad" years on one hand.
