Older and newer bikes for an experienced (older) rider.

One of the three main bikes I ride. This one is a Wabi Classic and in the picture it is set up freewheel style 47/16 ratio free and 47/17 fixed as a flip the wheel around option. It is very easy and comfortable to get around on. I am running on 28mm Continental Gator Hardshell tires with a Rivet Independence AllRoad saddle. I am not necessarily fast but I can get around.

One more bike, although not riding this one much yet. 1982 Peugeot PH10s, was my dad's, been ridden maybe a few hundred miles in it's life and then stored. Completely original, nothing done yet, rolled out of the bike shop in this configuration. Future project to either just take apart with new bearings and grease, or to somewhat modernize so I can ride and enjoy it more (knowing there are two definite camps on this subject). I'll take my time and decide, either way it's a sentimental bike.

thats as I bought it ... needs a brooks cambium C17 carved saddle, better wheels and black bar tape
plus I have a giant tcr and a surly LHT and a Bridgestone MB-2 converted with drop bars
my wife said.... NO MORE BIKES!!

Just built this up as a fun why not project. Flyxii direct buy Chinese carbon, new 105 11spd. group that was a very cost effective and great group, custom wheels from Bicycle Wheel Warehouse. A great riding bike 250 miles later. Very fast, but N1's always are. I'm getting better at understanding geometry and fit, this one is my best yet.

Though I claim to not be a mountain biker, I somehow ended up with 6 vintage MTBs this past year. Here is a photo of the '84 Univega Alpina Uno with double butted rigid frame, very light and quick on the agressive single tracks. Has Shimano 3x6 SIS.

Today? Today I rode my 1983 Raleigh Super Course. I had to do some work on it after a recent fall- new brake levers, new bar tape. Did 52 miles on the club breakfast ride.
Those drillium brake levers go well with my drillium chain ring
The old Cyclone Mk II is still working even after extensive damage when I dumped the bike last month

New-to-me Univega Via Carisma, probably 1992-'93. My first rigid fork bike in years, since my neck and back were busted up in a car wreck several years ago. The original flat bars were painful on this bike. Swapped handlebars between my Globe Carmel and the Univega. Both are much better rides now. I think the Univega even looks better with the slight riser bars.

I'm in a bit better shape now.

A nice lady saw what happened, and so did the store manager, who called the police. The officer demonstrated how easy it was to pick the barrel(?) combination lock. In turn, I demonstrated that to my parents. They still seemed to think it had been my fault. WTF? THEY bought me the lock!!!
Then I started saving for another bike.
A couple of months later, my parents kicked in the remaining bit. The Varsity back then (1969) cost about $89, with tax.
That next one was green. They didn't have another in blue.
The green one was never as much fun as the blue one.
