Nice. I did basically the same workout, with some form sprints thrown on top at the end.

Rest weeks, man.
Monday off, Yesterday an hour mostly easy. Rode the race bike for the first time in a few months and tried to ride a lap on Fiesta at SST and the legs were way too sore.
Today I intended on getting a couple hrs of spinning in but I was too into my coffee and the interwebs so I settled for an hour instead.
If I can get a couple hrs of z-whatever each tomorrow and Saturday I'll call it a week.

Snapped a cable while doing tempo work on the trainer :-| Might take this as an opportunity to do a mini rest period and extend the block for another week.

2hrs with 7x10 sweet spot (ascending 88-90-92-94 then back down 92-90-88). Seems like my HR is lower at a given power compared to a few weeks ago, I'm giving some thought to upping my target by 5w and see how that goes, but I may also just finish out the block. CTL is up to 65, highest since July lol

2x20 on the trainer today. didn't have the balls to do it in the tt position, but since it's on that bike I am pretty sure it counts.

2x20 for me today too, or rather 1x20 + 1x17 when a maintenance truck took up the entire bike path for a half mile.

Felt good today, no coughing. Waiting industry standard two days to drop the hammer.

Sue: Definitely, two days is like industry standard.
Trent: You know I used to wait two days to train, but now it's like everyone on strava waits two days. So I think three days is kind of money. What do you think?
Sue: Yeah, but two's enough not to look anxious.

Cat 2
Yesterday was low tempo + a few form sprints. Today was threshold work (102%), 6x8 of those. Didn't think it would go well after the warmup, got into it and felt great making it through. Looking forward to reassessing soon.

Been feeling kind of meh on the bike the past couple of weeks. Took most of last week off thinking that was it, but still not feeling it. Need to figure it out, whatever it is, soon..

Rode outside! Oh, sweet air that's not saturated with my own sweat and odor.
Did almost 50 miles with 6 x 3.5 mins with 3 min recoveries on a hill. Averaged about 112% ftp. About 6-7% less than I had planned/hoped for, but after doing almost a month of mostly tempo and sweetspot, that was a bit rougher than I thought it would be.

90mins z2 yesterday, 2hrs today 4x20 @ 90, 94, 94, and 92% usually I do well with this sweet spot work but I was suffering a bit today, had just eaten dinner, albeit a light one, but that messed with me I think

Finally felt rested after my 1000 TSS team camp and went out to ride with a teammate this morning.
He has a coach and was prescribed 4 hours Z2 with an hour of alternating Z2 and Z3. I'm looking to add in threshold/sweet spot so I just did 50 minutes sweet spot while he did his weird thing. I tacked on an extra hour for 76 miles, 8000 feet and 310 TSS.
I noticed during the 50 minute effort, about 20 minutes in, that my legs were fine and itching to go harder, but my lungs were near the limit. It has always been the exact opposite for me, and I was trying to figure out why it was.
Then it suddenly came to me - this is the first winter that I put VO2 intervals on hold. So I guess when you stop training lungs so hard and focus on legs, the lungs can't keep up. Wondering if I should start adding in the VO2 yet, or work in threshold zone for a few weeks or a month first.

If your lungs are giving out during a thing like z2/3 alternating i think it indicates you just like, need aerobic development, which is saddle time rather than above threshold intensity. Long z2 with tempo stuff.

Sorry, I misread. What % are you riding z4 at, and is it pegged to your pre or post riding break markers?
Senior Member
Another 2hrs today 3x30 at 85%. Watched the Patriots come back to win, so maybe that explains my higher HR lol Much needed rest day tomorrow.

@aaronmcd maybe it’s the vaping?

I don't know what a break marker is. I don't know what percent it is since I'm in this weird land I am not familiar with of building of from super detrained. I'd guess it felt between 92% and 98%

as in you took a break from riding, so like are you pegging your z4 as the watts you could do before our layoff, or after? It sounds like you don't know though, and it also sounds like you might be underestimating a bit based on RPE? Which is like whatever, but vo2 isn't going to solve that I don't think.
