As a n00B I don't even know how to judge this, but thought I'd throw it out there. If it is the most awesomest deal ever, let me know and/or cut me in!

Nice Italian!! Bianchi 12 speed, 21 inch frame, Campagnolo Derailers, Lock Clipless pedals + stock pedals and frame pump. This bike has been stored for years great condition, though tires are dry and will need replacement.

Thanks Tom. I've been watching the auction but the bidding history looks fishy. Incorrect parts, no decals and seller doesn't want any "comments." ???

I am a collector of vintage italian steel road and track bikes. Ended up with a couple of frames that I am willing to trade for other of comparable value, or greater/lesser value (I can add/collect extra cash as needed).

First is a late ''80s Masi Nuovo Strada frame with Columbus SLX-SP. 49 c-t-c seat tube, 52 c-t-c top tube. Cinelli bottom bracket, Masi chrome fork, Columbuis chrome dropouts, chrome chainstay, lugged, engraved and detailed throughout frame and fork. 126mm spacing. Condition is excellent. Original decals and paint, no rust. Excellent alignment - never crashed. This one is a bit small for me - I usually fit a 50-52cm frame. Horizontal dropouts and wheel adjustment screws. This is an SLX-SP model handmake in Italy, not the later iteration of this model which was made with lesser ttubesets in the US. Perhaps you have something in this size to trade?

Next is a 2000 Gios MegaLite frame with Dedaccai Lite tubing. 50 c-t-c seat tube, 52.5 c-t-c top tube. Gios calls this a "52cm frame". Gios Team chrome lugged and engraved fork, Gios chrome dropouts, chrome chainstay. 130mm spacing. Condition is excellent as new,. Original decals and paint are perfect - not a scratch on this bike anywhere. Excellent alignment - never crashed. Horizontal dropouts and wheel adjustment screws. Handmade in Italy.

Finally a late '80s Rossin Pista (track) frame with Rossin proprietary tubeset. 49/50 c-t-c seat tube, 52 c-t-c top tube. Rossin track fork with very little rake, track spacing, and track fork ends. Lugged throughout. Condition is very good,. Original decals and paint. Excellent alignment - never crashed. Handmade in Italy. Very steep geometry.

If interested please phone 978-985-0578 to discuss. I will sell these outright if you prefer.

Ciocc World '77 61cm with Campy GS/NR with a bid at $228.....

Don't know how to post the whole listing, but this appears to me a mid/lower range Ciocc from late 70's or early 80's. The guy had it listed as buy it now for $338 last week but it didn't sell, so it can probably be had for less than $300. Not a bad deal for someone looking for a nice Italian steel vintage ride on a budget.

Link to auction is here:

+1 Paint chipping on both TT and DT. And it does look like there's a bulge on the DT near the lower head tube lug.

you guys have good eyes or something, i don't see a bulge or anything that would have made me believe it was crashed.

is the smoking gun the sort of matching paint chipping on top and downtube where they would have bent a bit? the fork appears straight though, no?

Basso Gap road frame, 1983 - $225 (Arlington, MA)
Date: 2009-07-17, 7:57PM EDT
Reply to: sale-knbgu-1275543721@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Basso Gap frame + fork, 1983, SN #305313. Size 48cm from center of BB to middle of top tube. Six-speed spacing. Full Columbus tubing, Cinelli BB shell with Italian thread (36 x 24F), Campagnolo drop-outs, chrome chainstays. Campagnolo Pista headset. Brazed-on top-tube and BB cable guides, front-derailleur mount and downtube shifter bosses. Modolo shift levers. Good condition, never crashed, with a few scratches and marks and a tiny bit of rust on the underside of the top tube. Ridden until about 1987, then put into clean storage. It has a stiff, snappy ride and is perfect for a short rider looking to race on a vintage frame; would also make an excellent fixed-gear bike. Cash only, buyer pick up.

99.9% of the time the smoking gun is the chipped paint and it is possible to beend a frame without bending the fork and vice versa. All combos are possible: buldges in tube/no chip paint no buldges/chip paint bulkdges/chip paint and all of those with or without a bent fork.

Buldge in tube can be seen in this pic:
