2018 Raleigh Preston retro/disc
What do you guys think about this bike? I think it just came out today, I got an email. Never had a bike like this before but it looks like a fun ride. Something about it is just calling me. If you sign up for the corporate discount it's $454. They also have a 3 speed version for about $30 more.
Of course you can flip up the bars if you want.

Not a fan of the traditional diamond frame in a cruiser ('American' cruiser vs 'English' cruiser) nor of disc brakes on most bicycles. This may appeal to me more if it had belt drive, one of the few 'modern' technologies that I feel actually has merit for my riding needs. The saddle does pique my interest as does the copper plated h-bar.

looks like a poormans pashly Gov'nor with fat tires. Nothing wrong with that but looking at the geomitry I wouldn't be suprised if the steering is a bit twitchy.
Looks like a fun bike but not what I think when I picture a beach cruiser.

It's not a beach cruiser, in any way, that's for sure.
Looks like a '90s MTB knockoff dressed up as a faux Path Racer
It's pretty much all wrong.
I don't like the following...
1. Stationary rear axle requires eccentric bottom bracket. BIG hassle. Limits options.
2. 700c wheels don't work for me on cruisers or small bikes
3. The sloping top tube kills it for me
4. Disc brakes scream "High performance, not casual cruising"
5. The rearward bend at the top of the fork looks clumsy
6. The chain guard bracket is an afterthought. Welded bracket or no guard, period.
7. Seat post diameter severely limits replacement options
8. Retro saddle and "Path Racer" bars clash with brakes. Huge style clash.
9. Rear drop outs are way too high tech/modern looking for the look they are going for.
Some Frankenbikes nail it. This one misses by a mile.
The guy who designed it probably wears plaid shirts with pinstriped pants and a paisley tie.

Have to say I like it. I'm more of a flat bar person than ?? not sure what you call those. It reminds me of my Electra Moto 3i I love the simplicity but with an internal 3 speed (well worth the cost upgrade) and the discs are nice.
I have last years Cream colored frame, got it on closeout for $459 last January and added a Brooks saddle . https://www.bikeforums.net/beach-crui...rm-review.html
Sorry about the pictures Photobucket ruined the internet for everyone.
Here is a link to the new one. Moto 3i | Electra Bikes
Or a single speed - Moto 1 | Electra Bikes
Personally I love Disc brakes. Hydraulic disc brakes on a bike are the best thing since sliced bread. The Electra doesnt have them but Im thinking of upgrading anyway.
