John Kerry, 50 Plusser?
In earlier years, Former Senator John Kerry was discussed by pedalers as a major political figure who rode his Serotta. Is he still riding?

^I wonder what his user name is. He has little Cateye there, probably one of the old wired ones.

Don't know, but his new boss (as of Jan 20, 2021) does at the age of 78. https://www.bicycling.com/news/a3472...are-bike-ride/

And the rest of the gear: What gloves, jacket, helmet? Setup looks good, handlebar light, reflector, nice mirror. MTB folks - can you tell what gruppo from the levers?

I believe Kerry did the first day of the PMC in 2019. He's participated in the event for more than a decade.

If Joe B. rides in the near future, it will be while wearing a walking boot after breaking a bone or two in his foot while playing with his dog. Dogs are dangerous!

I was thinking Titanium as well, just based on the grayish-bronze color that Ti bikes tend to be and the threadless straight-blade fork that looks to be carbon...
I was thinking about approaching him about joining me on my proposed Perimeter of Ohio ride (I need a better name for the ride than one with the acronym POO ) -- Relatively flat for us old codgers (coggers? ). Following the shore of Lake Erie, down the OH/PA state line to the Ohio River (moderately hilly section), then following that winding river valley all the way to Cinci, following the Ohio/Indiana line north to the Michigan border (again, mildly hilly from Cincy up to the Dayton/I-70 area, flat-ish from there on North), then back to Toledo and Lake Erie. The start/stop could be anywhere along the route. Maybe even hit the Lake Erie Islands by ferry. I'm figuring three weeks to cover the roughly 1050 miles, stopping for the night at towns that are conveniently 35-55 miles apart. Not a strenuous ride, but one to promote cycling in the State, etc... as well as the varied history of Small Town Ohio...

When I get elected, remember that I ride a Merlin titanium. Also that I’m very fast for my age.

The bike Joe Biden is shown riding is some kind of low end or older Trek or something else wearing a fairly narrow Bontrager handlebar. The brakes are cable operated and the gears are a 2X? Just fine for easy rides on bike or multi use trails. The fact that he has a mirror on there sort of precludes any hard off road riding. My guess is that he has had that bike for quite a few years looking at the brake lever on the right handlebar..
Probably the most enthusiastic bicyclist president was indeed GW Bush. He had at least two reported bike crashes and one with a Segway during his time in office. The recent pictures of him on a bike are all Trek bikes, but they look newer and intended for more aggressive off road riding. Still rides hard in his 70's and hosts this event in Crawford TX: https://www.bushcenter.org/explore-o...s/w-100-k.html

Dang, clicked on the bushcenter link. Looks like the secret service agents are riding a bit harder!
